Today my 8yo asked me the question: what happens when you simultaneously press both the accelerator and brake?
I went into lecturing mode, heavily over-explaining how the car understands that this is not intended and automatically blocks the input signal of the accelerator pedal.
But to my surprise (or shock, rather) when I tried to showcase this by pressing both pedals, the car did not cut the throttle as I would expect. Apparently, the car doesn't have a brake override system (BOS) implemented? Today BOS is basically an industry-standard mostly because of the undeniable safety benefits. More so because we're talking about cars with over 600hp, and a recent recall due to the all-weather floor mats potentially jamming the accelerator pedal.
But my confusion is that I recall having tried this earlier, while still on 2.2.10, and the car did in fact cut the throttle as I expected.
So my question; was this just a false memory or was this feature indeed removed in my current firmware (2.6.11)?
