B Pillar Camera on 24/7

I noticed something funny when taking out the trash.. the B pillar camera, which I thought was just for 360 camera or face recognition, appears to be on 24/7.

We had some fresh snow and it was clearly melting the snow all evening. I wonder if they're testing a sentry mode

Or maybe its just a heating element to keep the camera clear, but that seems like a waste of energy to run at all times. Would take 1-2 min to melt any frozen snow.

I walked up to take the photo, noticing the black spot from further away. The snow wouldn’t have melted that quickly.
