Anyone else doing high mileage on their Air?

Th
Have our Grand Touring since July 7th and 6.305km (3.940mi) driven. Up and down Switzerland from Amsterdam included. First 4.000km (2.500mi) used 666Kwh (=3,75mi/Kwh). Up and down Switzerland and all climbing and defending overthrew included, we still get 3,57mi/Kwh. Not too bad. Geneva - Amsterdam in one 988km (618mi) drive in 10h25m on adaptive cc not using the brake once. We love this car!!
Is is very cool haven't seen many owners from different countries. I am curious on your charging experience in EU? I have seen the Porsche charging lounges and the cables tethered to the ceiling and hanging down which seems FAR more practical for charging than here in the US.

I realize that some of you were skeptical of some of my questions and concerns about the Air due to my intended use. And some are probably sick of me mentioning how much I drive lol. But just to verify, I got the car 5 weeks ago and 9 days of that, it was in the shop. 2500 miles later with another 300 before I get home tomorrow, here I am charging again lol.

Is anyone else putting this kind of mileage on their car? If so, what have you learned during all your windshield time? View attachment 11329
I have put on 31k miles in one year.

Charging infrastructure is developing rapidly. Many providers. Almost all petrol stations have two or more EV chargers nowadays. Along the highways mostly six to ten or more. Norway and the Netherlands have the most developed infra; you can plug in at every corner of the street. See pictures for some impressions.

Wow. I guess I have the same questions for you that I have for Isaac.

Looks like you are where I'm going to be in another 6 months. Can I ask what services you have had in your 31k miles? I'm already 1500 miles past the first scheduled service.

You must get a lot of head turns and questions everytime you charge being one of the first owners.

No one has ever heard of Lucid or seen this awesome car. Lucid was present with a couple of Air's at the Formula1 last week in Zandvoort (Netherlands). Same astonishment there. And a lot of entusiasm as well. Lots of pictures being taken. Spread the word!

In Orlando, I had a guy at a red light on iDrive get out of his Model Y, knock on my window, specifically to ask me about my car last week.

This stuff happens all the time.

Me too! Sometimes from the most unexpected quarters - construction worker guys in big Ford 350 worktrucks with racks giving me an enthusiastic thumbs up; young men in low riders with heavily tinted windows rolling down their windows and asking me what it is, and nodding their heads in approval; the boy racer in a blue BMW sports sedan getting his ass handed to him at the next red light, then whooping and hooting in approval! Stuff like this seems to happen every week, even after almost a year of happy ownership!

By the way, I’m now at over 24,000 miles.

Hi!

48,012 miles, purchased July 2023 :) popping in to say hello. Best car I’ve ever purchased. A bit scared since I drive it like I stole it every day… so we will see what happens after that warrantee is up.

Best!

50 is the new 30, right?

Ain't that the truth. Of course, that's probably why I have averaged 2.99 miles/kWh over the past three years. 🥴

Let me be clear. I do not tailgate (hate doing it and hate those who do). I religiously signal any lane change or other maneuver in traffic. Except to break out of a traffic cluster and move into an open space to then slow and hold in the clear space, I drive at or only slightly above prevailing traffic speeds when on a busy road.

But give me an open road with clear lateral views ahead -- and there are a lot of them where I live -- I drive the stink out of our Air Dream Performance. Of all the high-performance cars I have owned, except for the Audi R8s, I've never had a car so up to the calling.

In his recent test drive of the Gravity, Kyle Conner of "Out of Spec Motoring" said that the Air they had just driven for three months was the best-driving sedan he had ever driven. Easy to accept. But he then said the Gravity drove even better! That I would have had trouble believing until I watch Jason Cammisa's "Carmudgeon" podcast in which he put the Gravity's handling on a par with Porsche's most recent rear-wheel steering in its sports car and said Lucid has brought back the old days of Jaguar's once-storied handling and ride prowess. And then I watched "The Autopian" (hosted by an engineer) review of the Gravity.

It just goes on and on. In three short years, Lucid has established itself among driving cognoscenti as the builder of the finest driving machines being produced today.

People can (and do) argue endlessly about whether Lucid is on its software game or whether its efficiency is really what the EPA numbers suggest. But for people who love driving cars instead of tablets, there just ain't no better act in the industry these days.

I’ve been wanting to do a mini road trip but unfortunately keeping my Air in its lane on the highway without white knuckling the steering wheel is impossible. I suspect the issue is from the clunky front suspension which lucid has failed to fix after 10 months of complaining about it. 4500 miles in 10 months on my Air! Quite the opposite of high mileage 😝

Can you share the link?

He dubs the Gravity "an amazing sports car trapped inside an SUV". It tracked with Jason Cammisa's comment that EVs such as Lucid builds are making the whole category of sports cars obsolete.

Of course, he concludes that the Gravity may well be a flop, because American cay buyers are far more focused on looks than engineering. I hope he's wrong about this one . . . but he may not be.

I also have a ton of miles, late 23 build and approaching 40k. Best car I’ve ever had by far in regards to driving dynamics…. Agree totally. I am tall and looking forward to a better sitting position in gravity. Cannot wait to buy one.

Just hit 44k after two years and 8 months. Anyone know how long the wait time is for a gravity build as that’s where I’m going after 3 years
