Android Auto Thursday

How do we know that it's coming in 2.6 (if that's even the next release #) and that 2.6 is even coming next month?
We are not 100% certain, but this has been discussed by a couple of sales associates with posters on this forum. I have reached out to mine to see if I can get any additional word…

Happy rectangular, exactly like CarPlay, Android Auto Thursday!
You can accomplish the same using a couple strips of 3M VHB double-sided sticky tape to affix your phone to the right-hand face of the screen. Or for a non-permanent solution, rubber bands.

To further fuel the fire, I wanted to share my experience with Android Auto in my Mach-e.

I was never a huge AA fan, but Ford just rolled out an update that integrates the car fully with Google Maps. Now Google Maps shows the estimated charge at destination, and Google Maps will recommend chargers if the route is longer than the battery can support. Setting a charger as a destination in Google Maps even initiates the battery preconditioning process when the vehicle is about 20 minutes away from it. So awesome. I love it.

My guess is Lucid will roll out AA like Ford did, and not integrate the car with Google Maps on the first release. But if they do, it will be great, even if the screen utilization is small.

Longest Fall ever 😔

Looking back at this thread, there are "it's coming.." comments TWO YEARS AGO and it's still not available. Crazy thing: this past weekend I rented a Dodge Ram 2500 Cargo van from Enterprise to help my daughter move from Philly to NYC. You know, the steel shell of a VAN you feel lucky to have heat in. I paired my phone to the radio via Bluetooth in case I wanted to use it for a call. Know what? Right after pairing was complete, BAM. Android Auto. Wirelessly, too.

search "patience" - almost all the results are from 'Android Auto Thursday' thread .... ;)

Call me crazy but I feel like it's coming in Feb.

It took 4 years for Polestar to give us Android Auto on the Polestar 2 and it RUNS on Google Automotive! 🤦‍♂️

They didn't consider it particularly important as Polestar cars already run native Google maps and voice assistant, and have access to an app store for native Waze, Youtube Music, Pocketcasts, etc. The CEO has said they just included it for completeness, a check-off item for those who haven't used a car with native android apps before.

Without an app store for a choice of native apps for navigation, streaming media, etc, Lucid's situation for android users is very different.

The whole AA implementation is an utter fiasco on Lucid's side.
Can i drive my car without it?
Sure.
Can i stop my wife's mouth/comments about it every time she enters the car.
No.
Is there a story behind it?
I don't care.
Lucid, what's your take on it?
