Android Auto Thursday

As it has been stated many times before...
If it means that much to you, buy an aftermarket android auto adapter. You can see exactly what you will be getting so there will be no surprises.
If not, wait for Lucid to initiate. It was been a longer than anticipated road but we are rounding the final bend. It seems premature to speculate on improvements before implementation
Thanks, but I believe you missed my point. I know I can do the first, I said so already. I just want more. Call me greedy to expect something better from a company whose aspiration is to "build the best damn car"

1. Is this even possible with AA? I've only ever seen it in a box on the main screen.
2. Their development of AA is already done and is in Google's hands for final approval. They're not changing anything at this point, unless Google tells them too, so your request is a fool's errand.
1. Yes. The Mercedes and BMW implementation of AA (and maybe CarPlay, because if they did one why not the other) is very well integrated. So as other manufacturers.
2. Sure. I was hoping for something better. Also, I don't think asking the Lucid team costs them money, all of our consternation on their behalf here notwithstanding :-).

P.S.: I am on my second Lucid lease.

This is true, on the BMW idrive system, the binnacle actually displays google maps right in the middle when navigation is active

At this point, I have only one question... Does this thread have the highest number of posts on the site? 77 pages

Soon Google will certify (I have no inside information, just hopeful) and we will finally be able to close this thread. In the meantime, I guess we can settle on this thread being the current record setter!

Welp, it's another Thursday and another week of patience. What's everyone's current favorite feature of the car? I like being able to turn on climate control before I actually get into it especially during this cold winter. 🥶

Happy Android Auto Thursday!!!!!!

"Ah, all things come to those who wait,'

(I say these words to make me glad),

But something answers soft and sad,

'They come, but often come too late."

Thursday Blues (the Lucid kind)

Another Thursday, same old song,
Android Auto, where'd you go wrong?
Lucid's sleek, the future's here,
But our phones? Stuck in the rear!

C'mon devs, work your magic spell,
Release the update, give us a yell!
We're waitin' patiently (kinda sorta),
For Android Auto, a proper supporter!

As I posted in another thread, I had a loaner last week, so couldn't use the app to preheat in 20 degree weather, and it reminded me how great that feature is. I'm really excited for the Android version of the new app to come out which will hopefully coincide with the update that enables being able to set the more detailed pre-heat capabilities (wheel, seats, etc.). Might as well just bundle it all together with the AA release and it will feel like Xmas morning!

A quick poll for those on the thread patiently waiting on AA support:

Will you be happy if the support is similar to Apple Carplay's currently? That is, having a small rectangle in the cockpit for AA?

My answer would be "No". It would be fine, but I can't say I would be excited given how long the wait is.

With the potential of the panel, its size, and the apparent thought put into the UI experience, I want the integration to be fully immersive, with notifications and navigation appearing in front of the driver for example, and the app fully utilizing the UI real estate. If a simple integration like that of Carplay's was the goal, then I already have the option now using all the proposals by other owners currently using external devices that integrates with AA through the Carplay interface. There isn't anything magical or extra. Just ... meh! If anyone in the UX department in Lucid is listening, my request on this front would be: "Do something magical and impactful, rather than tick a box. Please!"

What do others think?
I think you’re going to get the exact same box as CarPlay.

Today, I was having my car serviced and the service team/person mentioned that software update 2.6 is coming out in Feb and it would be coming with Android Auto. He mentioned the new update mostly focuses on the issues from 2.5
Will that be February 1st or by February 31st (or February 32nd at the latest)?

Today a guy considering buying a Lucid Air asked me for my opinions specifically about the software..once I was done he said he'll look elsewhere :( He didn't believe me when I told him there's no Android Auto in the car! When I showed him he was so disappointed...cmon Lucid...fix this already..losing out on sales here ..

So rather than answering that AA is coming in software release 2.6 next month, you answered in a way that made him look at another brand?

How do we know that it's coming in 2.6 (if that's even the next release #) and that 2.6 is even coming next month?
