ALL TEXAS OWNERS (or future owners) please post on this thread

Very late to the party here! Took delivery of my AGT October 1 in South Austin.

You are in the epicenter of public DCFC dessert next to Tesla head quarter.

But GM’s CEO was just there yesterday announced of releasing of their AI share ride Cruise official coming this summer.

Can someone please share what the process of getting Lucid registered in Texas is, steps, needed docs and cost. Thanks
@demhoise getting backto you on this...got my carregistered and titled successfully today ...very painless...LUCID's Fed Ex package had it all...the forms and inspection report. I took the package and my plates from my older car that I wanted to reuse with me to the Tax Assessor office...walked up to the window...told them Im titling and registering and after about 5-6 mins ...I was asked to pay a certain eye watering amount but then I was basically done...One note of caution...if you do not get the car registered and titled even after 30 days of taking delivery...they start charging a $175 penalty for each month you dont get registered...I took delivery on Feb 28 and got registered on April 6th so I had to pay $350 in penalties...dont make the mistake I makde and get it registered asap or atleast well within the 30 day mark...other than that I was told I should get the title in the mail in about 4-6 weeks...pretty painless process except the 350 penalty...hope this helps

Thanks this is really helpful 350usd in penalties is not fun

Glad your registration process went smoothly, your DA could have given you the heads-up on the 30 day limit in Texas, as mine did, or else I would have probably gotten hit with the penalties as well!

Wow I had no idea about the 30 days! I am usually slow with these things and just happened to have some time to do it a couple of weeks after I got my car. I'm glad you got it done. Bummer about the penalty!

Coming up!
April 21 ~ April 23 in Dallas

Had the car ceramic coated with a 9 year warranty along with XPEL plus tint applied throughout. I used Curated Autowerkz in Wylie. They babied it and kept me updated with photos and videos throughout.

Will take it back to have ceramic applied on the interior in a few weeks.

I got my charger installed earlier today....I returned the $1200 Lucid home charger...and went with a Chargepoint Hole Flex charger instead...electrician had to run about 25' of metal conduit and charged me $820. Overall pretty happy and the Chargepoint charger came online without a single hitch. Looking forward to getting the car now!

Planning my initial trip to Dallas and back...maybe even same day..but before I do that...getting Tints and PPF first...
Does this charger allow you you use the bidirectional function that is one of Lucid features?

I bought the Lucid $1200 charger thinking I'd be able to do bidirectional charging.. but it wasn't activated then and no schedule on when it would be available.. so I returned it. My charge point does not support bidirectional charging but I think no one does right now except maybe Ford 150 lightning iirc.

Yesterday on latest EA’s latest SK Signet 350kW dispenser in Ennis, Texas, initial plug-in speed was 228k at 30%, it immediately dropped to 183kW then stayed at 170~175kW. Finished the session in 28 minutes from 30% to 50% while I went inside Walmart.

62.93kWh / 28min * 60 min = 134.85 kW average speed delivered per minute. Not too shabby!

Yeah I got very similar in Bellmead on a 350 Sunday (4/9): 63.3735kWh in 26min.

When I first arrived, all stalls were being used. the only 150 freed up first and I started there but moved to this 350 once the Chevy Bolt (🤨) vacated it.

I am going thru dry CCS charging station dessert of Texas—— DFW, Waco, Temple, Killeen, Fredericksburg. Let’s see Lucid Air survive this road tripping.

May may have to settle with slower charge, I’ll be starting 100% from Plano. I see no EA in this corridor.

I drove from Plano to Bellmead from 100 to 65%. Then 65% to 87% in 26 min to preemptively going into inland Texas. I stayed longer than I would because the Mach-E next to me kept wanting to compare software and mobile app feature between Ford and Lucid.

35.3kWh / 26min * 60min = average 81.46 kW speed without precondition and at higher SOC. I would think this is good charging session.

For my 3 days mini-road trip, I used the following Electrify America and without pre-conditioning.

Ennis (south of Dallas) - Signet 350kW: Always excellent, pulled avg 135kW per min on 28 min from 30% to 80%.

Bellmead (north of Waco) - Signet 350kW: pulled avg 85 kW per min for 26 min from 65% to 86%.

Round Rock (north of Austin) - Signet 350kW: pulled avg 94kW per min for 18 min from 65% to 87%.

Columbus (between San Antonio and Houston) - Old ABB 350kW: pulled avg 155 kW for 11 min from 37% to 61%.

So overall excellent charging session without predetermined charging using precondition. I stop when my bladders tell me to stop.

I didn’t go to Fredericksburg (purple circled), but ended up driving around beautiful Lake Travis, stopped by the famous Oasis restaurant for some cliff-side dinning. IMO, such a massive restaurant with multi level parking lot can add some ChargePoints charger there.

I then took Lucid Air to troll Elon’s HQ again. It’s just fun to watch the security guards giggle.

Sounds like it was a successful trip indeed! Would you say your charging speeds were consistent with the charging curve that we're all familiar with at Ennis and Columbus? The other stations seem like you got pretty solid speeds even at the higher SOC!

Separately, it's unfortunate that Lake Travis water levels are falling pretty low again.
