Mine returned from service on April 30th with 2.8.30 still on it. I just got the "Update Available" notification on my app this morning. Fingers and toes crossed. It must not be getting rolled out. My 26 Air is getting shipped back from service with 2.8.30 on it
Mine is in for service right now (lots of technical service bulletins and HV battery replacement) and when I checked the app this morning it now shows "updating 7%"Mine returned from service on April 30th with 2.8.30 still on it. It has been absolutely stable for me. But as is with most updates, some are experiencing issues while others are not. Without rhyme or reason.Maybe that's ok after reading alot of this.....
Is this a function that we need to enable? (if so, where )The car (with the accelerate to pass function enabled presumably) actually did it like I would have.
This is great to read, thank you.It has been absolutely stable for me. But as is with most updates, some are experiencing issues while others are not. Without rhyme or reason.
For instance, yesterday with DD Pro Highway assist hands free on, I was attempting to exit off the highway with a lane to my right that continued on to the “exit only” type of lane. I had a car in front of me and a car behind me in the lane I needed to get into. The car (with the accelerate to pass function enabled presumably) actually did it like I would have. Accelerated into the diagonal “gap” between the car in front of me and the car behind and to the right. I do this maneuver quite frequently as this exit is along my normal travel path. And this situation has presented itself nearly identical in the past and the car would slow down to allow the car behind me to the right to pass first.
It did this safely. Like I would do it. Not in a way that made me panic. It acted like all other cars so I assume if someone observed it, the car behaved exactly like it was supposed to. Boring and predictable. That is an upgrade for me.
The latter. It’s not a setting. Is this a function that we need to enable? (if so, where )
Or are you just noting that with the new update it seems to be built-in?
This sounds like a meaningful boost in functional capability!
Nothing to turn on. It just worked well in that scenario for me!Is this a function that we need to enable? (if so, where )

I'd do a brake-X-mic reset anyway...it cleared up some minor issues for me..and has been my practice since most updates.I have had 2.9.0 for about a week (maybe more) now and put about 200 miles in Phoenix. No issues so far. I did not do a hard reset or anything.

Update complete and now at 2.9.0 (while still at the Service Center).Mine is in for service right now (lots of technical service bulletins and HV battery replacement) and when I checked the app this morning it now shows "updating 7%"
which is awesome. But the location is in the middle of a rose nursery 30 miles south of the SCGot a text last evening saying ready on Friday.
I had my HV battery replaced a year ago now. It also rebooted and showed a version 1.X something while in service. They will fix it before they return to you.Update complete and now at 2.9.0 (while still at the Service Center).
But when I went over to OTA Updates to see if it had synced yet (no), it indicated I was on 1.1.4 which is crazy. I know it synced when I first signed up there since it had the correct mileage.
When I bought the car a few months ago, I had to install maybe 5 updates since it was last refreshed in July 2025 (previous owner barely used it). 1.1.4 goes all the way back to 2022; is it possible all this time it never had a hard reboot? It had seemed to take care of itself when I installed my updates so I have never done the X-Speaker-Brake thing. Odd.
I synced at OTA Updates and it now agrees with the app 2.9.0 (Previously the app said 2.8.30 like everyone else).
Many thanks. This exactly fits my situation, and makes sense if the reman battery perhaps had some yet-to-be-overwritten firmware.I had my HV battery replaced a year ago now. It also rebooted and showed a version 1.X something while in service. They will fix it before they return to you.
