2.0.52

Got 2.0.52 this morning.
Just updated this morning. Been waiting for scheduled charging to help with using non peak time rate charging. I do have to say that this is a very poor implementation of scheduled charging. It sets a 12 hour scheduled start time only. Kind of useless. Please allow start and stop times for the scheduled charging.

If you've got lossless files, yeah, they should sound very good in the Lucid system. Better than any of the music service apps in the car. Shame Apple won't sell you Dolby Atmos (Spatial Audio) tracks. They won't even let you buy tracks at all once you are an Apple Music subscriber.

Fortunately, I still buy digital albums from a lot of indie bands I like. So I have the ability to download hi-quality lossless files of those. Need to put a real collection together on a stick now, given we have no idea how long it will be before we get CarPlay..
Carplay apple music will have lossless, right?

I’m not sure that is entirely correct. You also still set the charge limit (which will indirectly set your stop time)….

You can set the stop soc % for now which you do anyway and you know the charge rate too and you therefore know when it will stop.

I'm guessing he wants a stop time for when peak rate starts so the car will stop charging even if it doesn't reach the SOC limit.

I'm with you on converting those old CD's and I download in FLAC from merge and band camp etc. So get on the stick! (where does that expression come from?)
That being said, if car play is wireless you'd have the same lo rez transfer for streaming, would't you?

After installing and clicking About in the mobile app the Version shows as 1.3.0.
That’s the version of the app. To see the version of your car’s software you need to go to settings (gear icon on the pilot panel) and click about.

Not necessarily. Wireless CarPlay creates an ad-hoc WiFi network for the actual streaming. So it can do much higher quality than Bluetooth. It's not capable of full lossless, true. But way better than what you have now with Bluetooth streaming. And given AirPods can do Atmos tracks, I'm assuming wireless CarPlay can do the same.

All that being said, I am hoping now that we know the USB port is capable of data, wired CarPlay will also be an option. Fingers crossed.

Debating if I should update the my first every OTA. Apart from media playing thru USB and scheduled charging, any other noticeable new bugs after the update…
I will probably sleep on this update for few more days :)

I love this forum . You always learn something new. Thanks Jack, my Lucid, just chipped in "Socket to me"

Worth noting your warranty specifically requires you to keep up to date with OTA updates. They are not optional. Read the fine print.

But yeah, waiting a few days is no big deal. Just don't get more than a few updates behind. Otherwise, you'll need to contact customer care to push updates to you.

Yep - I am aware of that fully. Thanks @joec
Yeah just a few days to update the S/W. I will probably do it tomorrow night and let it sleep for overnight (mimicking a reset) for next day to try it on…
I have guests coming over so wanted to show them the cool car that I purchased ;)

USB report - LOVE IT
I can report that you Apple lossless m4a files work fine.. In fact to my ears there is a satisfiyng richness in these music files that I have missed up to now in my Lucid experience. I really lobbed for this up grade. I am very happy. I swear there in more data per song to reproduce this way than what can currently be streamed to your car. The result is superior depth. Tidal at home rocks but we can't receive that sane quality our cars. I popped in my old thumb drive I had used in my previous car and it took a while to "download". The media app breaks down your files into albums , artists , genre and songs. It divided my albums into two files. It divided my songs into four groups of 500 songs each. Everything is listed alphabetically. This all is visible in the pilot panel. In the old car I was a big fan of random play but the media app does not allow for that presently. But I will tell you listening to 500 songs alphabetically is pretty random. The result was a vey happy Lucid owner.

Personally this richness the music is a lot more satisfying than spaciality effects.
You should do your own test and let me know how the music compares.
REally good to hear that that the m4a files work without having to convert them to mp3. Are the m4a files being copied onto the car's hard drive? I expected the media player to play them from the usb dirve.

According to @LucidDropkick, who had been having some issues with his cameras, no; they are much more performant. As I’m in Korea (hi from Seoul!) I haven’t had a chance to test it myself.
The cameras seem "more performant" for me after 2.0.52, although I never thought there was an issue to begin with. The camera views seem to come up faster after this OTA for me (Touring edition).

I, for one, do want the ability to play audio from USB so I appreciate Lucid listening to the customers.
My update is on-going.
Happened to be in the garage at 50%. Fans came on full blast for a bit, then went off.
At 64%, they came on again and are still going.
Not a soft or hard-ware specialist, but I'm just totally amazed at the magnitude and the complexity of OTA updates.
What a momentous task for only thousands of customers, as opposed to the zillions of Microsoft or Apple!
Kudos to Lucid's software team, the unsung heroes, most of whom will never be known to the public.
I never noticed the fans during the prior updates. The processors must be working hard on this update. I'm also happy to get the USB audio.

Need some help from you computer jockeys.

After downloading 2.0.52, I plugged the USB music stick into the Lucid that I used to use in our 2015 Tesla Model S. That stick used to work fine in the Tesla, but in the last year or so I had the car (most of 2021) the stick would play music for a few minutes then start reloading. I assumed the problem was with the Tesla.

The stick is doing the same thing in the Lucid. When I first plugged in the stick, it took about ten minutes to download the ~1300 albums on the stick. They all showed up in the directory on the car's display, and I could open every one I tried and commence playing. Then, within about three minutes, the playing stopped and the system went into reload mode again.

Is this a problem with the stick? (I hope not, as that stick was loaded from my iTunes account back when such a thing was allowed. I don't think it can be done now without using third-party software -- if then.)

Disclaimer: Not a computer jockey by any stretch of imagination.
Can you create another stick with only a few albums and see how the car responds?
While you're at it, I'd copy another stick for safekeeping purposes, if not done already.

After the update my sound system was totally messed up. The valet card fix took care of it.

FWIW - my mobile key is working faster and more consistent now - I guess this is the passive entry improvement in the notes. I also downloaded a bunch of music from the Apple Music on my computer (prior to the DRM subscription issue) and the sound is very good - I think the bass is also better. The interface allows searching by song (alphabetical), artist, or album. If it had a random mix selection I would be ecstatic. I might have not looked very hard before as I haven’t taken a long trip yet but there seems to be much more charging station data available even when you don‘t have a destination chosen. Haven’t tried the scheduled charging yet (which I need as I’m only using the Lucid cable that came with the car) but have it set for 10pm tonight - we’ll see.
