Hey All,

I just ordered the TWRAPS Chrome Delete Vinyl Wrap Kit and want to share my thoughts on it. Prior to ordering this, I was already very pleased with the 19" Aero Range wheels on my Cosmos Silver Touring. After ordering @TWRAPS Dual MagSafe Charger solution, I saw the Chrome Delete Vinyl Wrap Kit and figured I'd give it a try as well since it looked solid from the renders.

My initial impression was that they looked great! A few small quirks I noticed:
1. The middle part seems to stick very well, but I noticed the top part closer to the wheel edges where the wheel 'curves' in a bit, the adhesive didn't seem to enjoy sticking as much there (likely due to the curve? I'm not entirely sure). I haven't given this a test yet in the rain or anything as I just installed it, but I'm hoping in the sub-zero Chicago weather that it will stay put and not fall off.
2. I didn't see a squeegee included with my package -- I ended up using a credit card to squeeze out the air bubbles.

Overall, I think this product is great and the pictures should speak for themselves. The only (mild) concern I have is that in extreme cold temperatures or with high speeds, I worry that there is a chance the adhesive will peel off. I'm wondering if there is a solution for getting the edges to stick a little better. I think time will tell as I put a few hundred miles with the new wrap on, but again my initial impressions are that it looks great (my wife even was surprised as I'm not the handiest guy around the house and she said it looked as good as if a professional shop had installed it!)

Attached are a few pictures of my Touring after installation. Happy to answer any questions!

Very cool, how long did it take you to do the install?

Guess we found @nevadagame s alt
(both your wheels looked really similar until he switched it to another one)

Also I noticed how sporty this car looks. Almost like it was lowered, and i love it!

That looks amazing!
So just FYI for anyone installing these - if you have adhesion issues at the fold, there are two things you should do...as a matter of fact you should do one of them either way before the install - clean that area with alcohol as that acts as a primer.
The other thing is - use a heat gun or a hair dryer to warm up the vinyl there (be careful to not melt it), and push it with your fingers. This way it will stick really hard.

I know it doesn't make sense, but any plan to make these for the 21" dream wheels?

Do you mean the 21" Aero Blades?

If so, I see no issue chrome deleting these, as long as I get access to them. If anyone is in the Bay Area and willing to come by for a few hours so we can do it, then yes absolutely we can do it :)

Oh I see... still not a problem at all to wrap this as long as I get access for a few hours. I made a quick sketch on one way it can be made - sets of 2 pieces (red and blue on my sketch), for easier installation, that meet together at the thinnest part (for small seam line), and just provide enough of these to cover all spokes on all rims + some extras, and it's done.

I have my 19s on my car right now; if you'd like to come by sometime and borrow one of the 21" DE wheels for a bit, you are welcome to grab one and take it home and work with it; I won't be putting my 21s back on until July or so at the earliest

I see Borski offered up the Dream rim for you. If you still need access to the other 21's, I'm only about 30 minutes from you and in your area often and don't mind coming by to give you access to them.

Honestly @TWRAPS you should take her up on it just cuz she’s awesome and worth meeting, enough that I let her invade my anniversary trip to Carlsbad to hang out. :)

Thanks so much! That might actually be a lot more convenient for me, as @borski is about 1.5hrs away from me (each way), so I'd need to commute total of about 6hrs for this 😬 Let me DM you.

@borski - thanks for being cool about it after we discussed using yours first 👍

Hang on, they’re different wheels. I have DE 21s, which are exclusive to the DE. @AirDoll has the GT 21s, which are different.

Has anyone purchased/installed the trunk protector PPF kit from TWRAPS? Any difficulty with the installation?
