In a class of its own, they say. Less range and more drag than an Air, for sure. But I do quite like the look of it, and it's good to see them going with...
I had occasion to drive a Kia EV9 on Saturday and came away impressed.
Good: Interior space is pretty huge. Ride quality and NVH very good indeed. Handling surprisingly tight for a big SUV, although (like in the Air) you do feel the weight.
Less good: Controls are overly complex. Too many...
Idly pondering the lack of V2L, I went down the rabbit hole of what it would take and why we don't have it yet.
As some of you know, I've tried the Lucid V2V 'RangeXchange' cable with a third-party J1772-to-NEMA adapter off of Amazon but it didn't work. And nor would it - it's a 'dumb'...
Just got off the 'phone with the new guy at Tysons. Car is (finally) booked in mid-April to look at my trunk issues and a few other things.
Got told the may or may not have a loaner available, which is fair enough this far out. I was also then told that they don't do rentals any more, instead...
For those who, like me, enjoy most automotive curiosities: here’s a trio of Ineos Grenadiers I spotted on the NJ turnpike yesterday. Didn’t realise they were over here.
First time for the new car in rain / snow and I’m getting multiple errors …
- reverse light fault
- redundant lighting fault
- trunk fault (and trunk will not open)
- no sound from music, turn signals, anything at all
- constant shock / tilt alerts
I let the car sit for a couple of hours and...
As has been pointed out in other threads, I use spellings like "colour" and "aluminium". I'm also fond of the word "blimey".
So I was quite tickled today to discover that the mobile app updates its description of our vehicles' shapely rear depending on the 'phone's language settings:
Hadn't seen one of these before. And, given the company's troubles, I doubt I'll see that many more.
Which I'm not sad about - it's fugly. I hope the city got a good deal on them.
Looks like I'll be selling my Air. Pictures to come after I've had it detailed, but you all know how gorgeous an Infinite Black / Tahoe Lucid looks.
I am the second owner, purchased in April of this year with 1,642 miles, from a dealership in New Jersey that specialises, increasingly, in...
Me and my dog just got back from a 1600-mile round trip:
DC - Luray VA last Friday 18th
Luray - Moultonborough, NH Sunday 20th
Day-trip to Boston Tuesday 22nd
NH back to DC Saturday 26th (via New Haven, CT to collect the Mrs)
The Air was (of course) a delight. I won't say 'flawless' - Highway...
Just announced today:
https://electrek.co/2023/06/01/fisker-ocean-extreme-360-mile-epa-range-us-deliveries-june/
360 EPA miles ain't bad for an SUV, but it's still a lot less than we get for the same battery size ...
Newsflash: you can get two Tuktek folding kayaks, four adults, and of course all the obligatory life jackets, paddles, coolers, towels etc etc, in an Air with tonnes of room left over 😎
My LinerX mats arrived today, so these are surplus to requirements. Not asking for any $$$ for them, although I do like beer.
Pros:
- Really very good colour match for the Tahoe interior.
- Rear mat is in good shape and fits the car surprisingly well after a bit of trimming. I haven't trimmed...
I got fed up with all the clicking and pressing necessary to activate homelink (esp while reversing) so, while I had the double-sided tape out to install the charging pucks, I went with this rather more old-school solution ... it's pretty unobtrusive, and if they eventually sort the software...
So I received my title from the dealer in NJ over the weekend. Went to the DC DMV website this morning to 'skip the trip' and do the registration / title thing online, but ... 'Lucid' does not exist in the drop-down list of vehicle manufacturers.
I've sent them a feedback form alerting them of...
I see the "Dream Ahead Tour" is coming to the Tysons Galleria location 16th through 18th May. Not sure what's happening beyond 'come and test drive', but I might head out there one afternoon - might be fun if we could get a bunch of Lucids together, and let the Studio know we're coming?
Bloke from Cantor Fitzgerald on CNBC Power Lunch yesterday:
We remain bullish both on Rivian and Lucid in the long term ... issue is around supply ... In our view [Tesla] no longer has the best electric vehicle.
