Because these are heavier wheels (+10lbs of unsprung mass),
I do experience a noticeable difference is ride comfort over bumps and road imperfections.
I am considering another set of custom forged Magnesium 22" wheels in the same style.
They'll be about 30lbs (40% lighter).
Currently, there is a shortage of 22" Magnesium blanks in China!

I never ride stock wheels in any of my other vehicles, so I figured "The Mothership" as we call it shouldn't be any different.

So, I created my own custom wheels with the help of Splux Forged Wheels. The wife is a big Lakers fan and wanted a pop of color, so I designed the inner barrel in a purple finish, added my own personal logo and a few other custom touches. I had to provide all the measurements on my own, but luckily this forum and some research of my own helped. I ended up going with a 22" setup all around running 9.0 in front and 10 in the rear.

From design to delivery, these took less than 2 months. I got them installed 3 days ago and have received MANY compliments since then. I like my vehicles to have some kind of personality and I've found the inner barrel being colored provides just enough of a pop to catch the eye, but it's still subtle enough to not be jarring.

Next I need to paint or wrap the hideous olive green/tan brake calipers. I didn't notice them previously because the stock 21" wheels covered them completely. If anyone is considering an aftermarket setup, I definitely recommend Splux. Chloe (a male) was extremely communicative from start to finish and the wheels arrived 2 days after being shipped!

Specs ended up being:
22x9.0 front
22x10.0 rear
5x120
64.1 CB
ET38 all around

Tires are:
275/40R22 front
285/40R22 rear

I initially considered 265s up front, but after digging into Pirelli’s recommended rim width range (9.0”–11.0” for the 275/40R22), the 275 is completely within spec on a 9” wheel. It’s not stretched & not outside manufacturer tolerances.

You’re right, 265 is commonly paired with a 9.5”, but 275 on a 9” is still fully compliant & gives a better front contact patch for a 6,000+ lb EV SUV. That’s ultimately why I went 275 instead of 265.

Wheel weights are:
32.8 lbs front
33.9 lbs rear
Forged construction.

Clearance has been perfect so far. No poke, no rubbing, no weird steering feel. ET38 keeps it conservative and OEM+ rather than aggressive.

If anything changes after a few hundred miles I’ll report back, but right now the setup feels planted and looks exactly how I wanted it to.
