Let me know if any of you can relate to this situation. You find yourself in a new relationship, it’s something you’ve never experienced before. Fresh, exciting, raw, powerful, euphoric. An experience that takes you by surprise and never lets go. Then, after a few years of the relationship, through its ups and its down. Chaos, uncertainty, falling out of love then back into love, only to find yourself at a crossroads. Do you continue to ride the line of torturous love or call it quits? But you can’t quit, because every damn time you are together, all those initial feelings come flooding back to you and you remember why you started this relationship in the first place.

But then, something catches your eye. A new infatuation, another uncertainty, yet you can’t seem to pull away. You are drawn in, almost as if there is a gravity pulling you closer and when you finally get close enough, you don’t have enough willpower to stay away. You give into your wants, your needs, your desire for something new, something fresh. The excitement eats at you, makes your mind wander, imagining a world full of hope, love, and longing. Until that moment, when you take that plunge and let Gravity take over.

This has been my experience with the Air and the Gravity. It’s not just a new shiny toy to play with, but an entirely new experience. The Gravity is really Air 2.0, where everything feels slightly (sometimes immensely) better and more complete. Don’t get me wrong, I have loved my Air for the past 3.5 years, but that doesn’t mean it was the perfect pairing. With Gravity, I feel like I don’t want any other car. Everything about it feels right.

Gravity improves upon the Air in ways I wasn’t sure I thought I needed, but now that I have lived with it for the past month, it is hard to go back. The squircle, which I thought was just absurd as first, I want in every car I drive. The touchpads on the steering squircle, belong in every car moving forward. The beautiful display gives all the info you NEED, and that little bit extra you might want. Driving position is fantastic, the UX/UI is beautiful and useful and right where you need it to be. The seats are just as amazing as the Air, but because the Gravity rides higher, it just makes you feel more in control like overseeing your domain on the road.

The ride, oh the ride, is so lovely and compliant and comfortable. The Air was great, beautiful chassis tuning, otherworldly handling, but somehow the Gravity feels better in ways that are hard to describe. The air suspension does wonders at absorbing the road. The chassis still makes you feel connected, but at the same time, withdrawn from the harshness of the road. The different drive modes subtlety change the driving dynamics and give you a range of extreme comfort to racecar worthy handling. Somehow this behemoth of a car feels nimble in corners and small and agile at low speeds. When I first got the Air, I felt the car did a superb job of making it feel like you weren’t speeding. The Gravity takes that feeling to the next level and it is even harder to not drive the Gravity way past the speed limit. Between the car smoothing the pavement out, the NVH in the Gravity is so much better than the Air.

The space concept. Lucid, I love the ability to be able to replace my minivan with this wonderful SUV that can take my entire family and all the requisite gear to all the events we attend. No other vehicle can do it in as much comfort or style as the Gravity. Endless possibilities with the Gravity compared to the very capable, but vertically challenged Air, are now available to plan for the family.

Just like the Air, the Gravity has its own share of quirks. The doors have a delay when opening because of the frameless glass. The 3rd row storage mechanism is probably the least engineered part of the car. I have driven this car for a month and when I make turns, I hear random beeps that I still can’t figure out what they are for. I wish the back cover for the subtrunk was divided in half so I can stow 1 seat and put stuff on top of that stowed seat, but now I can’t access my sutrunk without moving that stuff.

But, the Gravity makes me not want to drive my Air anymore. My first Lucid, I am neglecting her, because the Gravity just makes more sense. It’s not that the Air isn’t wonderful and great and deserving, but for me, the pairing with the Gravity is just a better fit. I still love my Air though, you never forget your first love.

High praise :) great to hear about your Gravity love affair! XD

I love this. Sadly I don’t think Torquenews or Eletricvehicles.com will post this like they do every Reddit complaint thread. ☹️
Can’t wait to get my Gravity DE!

O fickle fellow follower: remember that it's more important to look good than to feel good.

LOL, I thought there was about to be some bodice ripping in your post!

Your suggestion about the split rear cargo cover is genius, I hope someone at Lucid takes note. My GGT order is for a 5 seat model, but if I had 7 seat, being able to have one seat up, one seat down, and access the cargo space would be great.

I saw the Gravity briefly when I went in to have the CCC upgrade. I liked what I saw and thought that the layout for the driver was much better. From what I can read into this thread, I'd be better off not test driving it? I don't need another vehicle at this time.
I did not need a new car either - until I saw and finally drove the Gravity. So yes, unless you’re willing to get a new car, I’d stay away from a test drive.

As for the layout, I made the mistake of going to the studio with my kids. They all loved the space, USB-C, etc and pronounced we had to get it!

Now, they’re all under 16, so I had to remind them that all of them are effectively bankrupt and had no say in the matter!

Yeah if you don't want to buy one stay away

I was pretty ready to buy a perfectly OK, safe 'n' sane Polestar 3 until we were able to drive a Gravity. It made the Polestar 3 look like a nicer Hyundai or Tesla, and my Air was reduced to the great first effort that it is. I would keep the Air if I wanted a sedan, but very much need cargo capacity and ground clearance.

I've gone from a Tesla Model X to my current BMW iX and I test drove the Gravity. I've been in Mercedes' and Audis. I've never been in ultra high-end cars like Bentley or Rolls. I can say, with no equivocation that the Gravity is the best vehicle I've ever been in. Not best EV, best car PERIOD. And it's not even in its final form! Can't wait to get mine this fall.

It’s not that the Air isn’t wonderful and great and deserving, but for me, the pairing with the Gravity is just a better fit. I still love my Air though, you never forget your first love.
Best vehicle ever made. PERIOD.

The early months with our Air Dream Edition gave us fits with software problems and other early-production issues. But once all that dust settled -- and it really did -- it became easily the best car we have ever owned . . . until June 30 when our Gravity Dream arrived.

It, too, is giving us similar fits. But at the same time, every time we head for the Air -- mostly because we think it's a shame to let it sit too long unused -- we end up looking forlornly across the garage at the Gravity trying to convince ourselves there are good reasons we're not taking it instead.

I had a passing suspicion that when the Gravity arrived the Air might start to feel a little dated. But it's not really that feeling. The Air still looks, drives, and rides like something from ten years in the future. But, damn . . . that Gravity ups even that game once you're behind the wheel. In over 50 years of owning cars and trading up frequently, it's just nothing I've ever experienced to this extent before.

I think for me, the Gravity represents what Lucid's slogan is: No Compromises.

You get the 3 rows. With the 3rd row actually useful.
You get the cargo capacity.
You get the range.
You get the charging speeds.
You get the efficiency.
You get the power.
You get the handling.
You get the awesome "future proof" tech.
You get the luxury that *feels* like you paid over $100k for a car

There are no holes in this vehicle proposition. I've never experienced a car like it.

I just got my Air and now reading this, can I unread?

Still prefer sedan but I think wife will need a new car soon.

As a current 2025 iX owner, I fully endorse this message. IX with air suspension and BW is an amazing vehicle, but Gravity is so much better! I hope it will be a smash hit for Lucid, and that makes me very happy as a Lucid investor!

Glad to hear it's not just me!!! 🤣 Coming from the Taycan, this SUV (mini-wagon-van-SUV) has been a COMPLETELY superior experience to it in every way and I thought when I first got the Taycan, it was so. The Gravity all in all drives better, is faster (than the 4S version) more luxurious, more utility (just took my son to college and MY GOODNESS this car can haul a ton of stuff and still drive amazingly!) better tech and just an unparreleld experience for a vehicle for me. It's not even close really. The Escalade IQ and Vistiq we tested, no real comparison. Those definitely have their strong points but hands down the Gravity beats them all. It's definitely got its issues, but I'm sure they'll get them conquered in the end. Even with them tho, insane better than anything on market that's not hyper-car money and I feel beats some of them too. Thanks for sharing your post and I feel very much the same!
