Gravity Bugs / Issues

The only V3 limitation is that at Tesla Supercharger stations with both V2 and V3 at the station, Tesla will not allow any 3rd party at the station at all, despite the fact that the V3s should theoretically be working. I think this is the main sticking point that's going to catch people up
... and what's frustrating is that the Lucid nav system indicates these locations as compatible (even though the Tesla app does not).

This isn't a bug or issue, per se, but it does seem to be a design quirk I found when showing off the Gravity to a bunch of friends yesterday:

There is a (very powerful) air intake at the bottom of the front grille. When you put down the frunk seat leg panels, these get sucked quite strongly against the front of the vehicle. This isn't a functional problem for the seat, but I wonder if it will cause premature wear on the fan and cooling system depending on that airflow.

Plug and charge is not setup for my Gravity. On the app it says Tesla Supercharger pending. Not sure if this is a bug or if I need to do something.

Others who are seeing the blue oval report differing experiences. Some can make it go away by changing seating position, some can't.

I'm 5'7" tall, and my partner is 6'1", and we both have very different driving positions. But we both see that oval no matter what. In fact, the picture I posted of the oval with the ghost was taken from the passenger side while the driver was also seeing both artifacts clearly.

It may be a function of just how warped the HUD screen is. In any case, no one who has sat in either front seat of our car has failed to see it when the car is outside in either bright, overcast, or rainy daytime weather.

The fact that some people here on the forum report taking test drives with a black cloth put over the screen would suggest that Lucid is well aware they are shipping at least some cars with disturbing reflections.

Look, no one loves the Lucid brand better than I. That's why we now have two Lucid Dream Editions sitting in our garage and are waiting anxiously for the arrival of the third. And it's great that many new owners are not having this HUD reflection issue. But for those who do -- even those who can make it go away by shifting from their preferred seat settings -- the problem is real, and it's significant. And I think Lucid is shipping these cars in full awareness of the issue.

While I agree that it's not sufficient cause to hold up DE deliveries at this point, I do think it's something that people should be made aware of upon delivery and given assurance that, if their car manifests the problem, Lucid will address it as soon as they have a fix worked out.
Thanks for illuminating (pun intended) this issue for us. Curious if as others suggested putting some non-reflective cloth over the hud is enough to prevent the apparitions. Seems like it would still cause a blurry spot.

Contact customer care. They’ll need to push or maybe re-push a certificate to the car. Also make sure you’ve set your Lucid Wallet up so the sessions can be charged to your credit card.

This probably has no relation to the Gravity fob issue, but I'll throw it out there just in case. To this day my Mach-E still has a fob issue that took me months to figure out and work around. It was maddening at first because it seemed so random until I figured out the pattern. When standing at the driver door, it would only open about half the time. Then I'd move a little and it would work.

Turns out the antenna is either weak, or poorly located in the door by the hinges. I keep the fob in my right pants pocket. When I'm standing to open the door, I'm often angled so that pocket is directly opposite the door hinges. The antenna is not strong enough to receive the signal when it has to go laterally across my waist. But if I rotate just slightly, it works perfectly.

Similar issue on the liftgate kick. As long as the fob is positioned near the middle of the liftgate, it works perfectly. But if the fob is close to either corner, it gets blocked by too much metal along the side of the car. We though it was the kick sensor at first but turns out it's fine, it's just the fob sensor signal.

Anyway, probably doesn't apply to the Gravity, but something to consider if getting inconsistent results.

I assume for cooling post-stop? How long do they run?

And here's what we see in the windshield above that distortion. (The floating ghost comes and goes with light conditions, but the blue oval is always there in all daytime light conditions.) I'm surprised the person who drove the car around that short Arizona pre-delivery test track didn't notice at least the blue oval and/or that the car was approved for shipment with it there. It shows up in pretty much any light conditions we've encountered so far. It sort of smells of Production just focusing on their metrics and deciding to push their problems onto Service.

That definitely isn't right. Mine looks nothing like that...while I do have some of the blue oval phenomenon, I certainly don't have anything close to that poltergeist. However, my HUD numbers do appear a bit "wavy/warped" if you move your head around a bit....which might also be issues with the outer screen but to a much lesser degree. I still wonder if there's a a wide degree of variability in these parts that may end up warranting a replacement. When I first brought this up on my review right after delivery, I hinted I thought it might be a hardware/optics issue with some (or most/all) of the units, and I do not think any sort of software level adjustment can fully remedy the issues some seem to be having. I guess now the waiting game begins until we find out more.

For those with a GDE, do the HUD numbers warp/skew when you move your head around, or is that just an issue with some of the cars? One of the things that validated my decision to change to a HUD-less GGT was seeing how much the number stretched vertically when I moved just a little bit in a showroom car. I haven’t experienced this in the HUD-equipped Audis and Volvos I’ve owned.

New bug for me today.

Got in car. Step on brake. Screen immediately shows bold red letters. Contact Service immediately. Cannot put car into gear. Soft reset made the error go away, then I can drive. But no video on any feeds, reverse, front, side. No video when using turn signal. Then as I drive. All the amber warning icons came on, lit up like a Christmas tree. Seems like every system had a warning. Stability control, no regen, message came up that there’s no hold, use brake for hold. Air suspension error. No RWS, I forgot what else. Reminded me of my Cayenne (lol) when it would just randomly give me every error in its system.

Came home, did another soft reboot. Errors went away. That July 31st update can’t come soon enough.

Re: HUD.
Someone suggested moving seating position higher. To which I did, the end result, I no longer see the reflections, but also no longer able to see the actual HUD. I suspect the reflection is part of the HUD, it’s a byproduct somehow.

There’s a July 31st update?
I think the July 31st update is the hands-free Dream Drive update for the Air, not anything for the Gravity as far as I know.

Is your car operating normally now since the 2nd reboot?

My HUD has a sweet spot where if you sit at a specific height, you can see the HUD and don't have the reflection. Luckily this is basically where I have my seat positioned--unless I slouch.

There’s a July 31st update?
I thought the last email about all the issues were claiming there is an update coming to fix by July 31st. I'm assuming that's not just the 3.2.1 update recently. The fob, all the false positive errors. Unless the 3.2.1 was it, then it didn't really fix much.

The email stated updates would be coming over the next couple of months. No set date was mentioned.
