Gravity Delivery Discussion

For someone who ordered the first hour on day one, my SA said 2-3 months, maybe. Black/Tahoe GT, New York, not sure what the hold up is but definitely not feeling close to beginning of the line.

Texted my SA asking if there was a 7-seat GT with tech package anywhere in the country available sooner rather than later. He said there was not. Honestly I'm not sure I believe him.
There are some with power package but they’re platinum, not stealth.

I think we managed to grab a vin today. A little bit of a fumble on my insurance but that has been creatively solved now.

The estimate is the car will arrive at the local service center in a week and be ready for pick up by the end of the month.

Guess we'll see what it's like to own a Lucid finally.
Did you get the GGT or GDE?

Really odd. I definitely did not order on day one but thought having been a gravity bridge lease and upgrading to DE would have moved further up the line. Crickets on my order and surprisingly no test drives in NY.
Just to add in on month 2 of my lease extension. Will probably need to look at plan b if lucid doesn't update in the next month or so on timing- assuming it take a month or so once the order moves to the next step.

I’m not an Air owner but based on feedback, not obvious how much priority is given and other factors seem to over ride it quick

That’s incorrect. The gravity is not faster than a McLaren. A McLaren has a top speed of 205+ mph. The Gravity does not. And it’s also not as quick as most McLarens. Most Mclarens are under 3 second 0-60. The gravity is also not as quick at the R1S 0-60 but it is faster than the R1S as it has a higher top speed than 130.
Fast deals with top speed and quickness deals with acceleration.
“Fast” and “quick” are synonyms. Car guys’ insistence on pretending one means too speed and the other means acceleration is dumb, pedantic nonsense.

Whatever you want to call it, the Gravity is fast and so is the X and R1S, etc. All I know is I want the quick Mario Kart mushroom boost on the highway when I need it. All of them gave me that boost (I only test drove Gravity, but was able to try it - I own the other two). I personally don’t need to know the drag time, 1/4 mile, etc.

Well I now have a VIN.
After hearing about GGTs with the Power Package possibly being available, I contacted my SA who was nice enough to respond even though she was off from work this week.
She found one already in production, not immediately available.

The two trade offs; going from stealth to platinum and with tow package.
The platinum worked out good because the more I looked at the wheels with the platinum feature, the more I liked them.
I didn't want to consider changing because I didn't want to risk getting moved further back in line.
I was concerned about brake dust build up, but the ceramic coating I'm having done should minimize build up on the lighter colored platinum.
Excited. The platinum really pops!
The tow package; I don't need it, but with the cover on, you don't even know it's there. If I ever need it, I've got it.
Also, I embrace my impatience and will pay the extra $750 for it.
Now I just need my impatience to go sit in the corner and hush up.

GGT/AG/Platinum//21"-22"/Tahoe with all features except HUD.
After my SA made the change, my dashboard changed to "In Production".

I asked how long to "the factory gate".
SA gave the same 30-45 days response she provided before when I asked what happens after VIN is assigned.

Congrats!

And you won’t have brake dust build up…..it’s an Electric Vehicle…one pedal driving. My silver Rivian wheels rarely got dirty u less I drove through rain.

Good point.
Although I would think over time, with the occasional minimal usage, won't there be some build up? Although as long as I do the car washing I plan to do, maybe not?

Over a couple weeks sure, but still minimal. I found a picture where you can see I drove through rain and the paint (wrap) is dirty but the wheels still pop. Sure there was some dirtiness on the black part but silver was just fine.

Got it.
BTW, nice color on that Rivian.

Thanks, I think dark blue is one of the best colors for most cars. It was KPMF excelsior blue..which is probably closest to Lucids Saphire color.

And I sold the Rivian weeks ago in the hopes of getting my GGT soon. Which I actually just heard from my SA, he said they have a goal of getting my mine by Sep 30th. Ordered 5/9/25 - switched configuration around a couple times. GGT, black, stealth, 22/23, 7, Tahoe, and all options except tow and tech.

They never stopped making stealth, they just added platinum to the batching process. So good news for the stealth configs out there.

I apparently have a chance to get the same spec GDE but I’d have to arrange to pick it up from Chicago at my own cost. They’re offering 3k off msrp for me being an air owner this month. Is this something other air owners have gotten for the people that have picked theirs up?

Congrats! I would have taken a similar one (and still would), but my SA is unresponsive...

Congrats indeed! I couldn’t get comfortable with the platinum look. Just love the stealth look too much. But it was close! I am still banking on an end of Q3 push!

It might just be because it’s built and ready to go and it would cost them $3,000 to transport out of Chicago area. There doesn’t seem to be a ton of GDE demand. The HUDs are a constraint, of course. You can still order a GDE now…

Lucid is offering a $3000 credit to existing owners going into another Lucid. Not sure if it’s just a July thing or going to be permanent. All us June delivery pre-existing owners got screwed 😂
