I was never at that stage (or entered and exited so fast I didn’t notice). Like many here, I ordered the minute Lucid started taking reservations on 7 November of last year, then upgraded to Dream Edition in Feb of this year. SA called to give me my VIN a couple of weeks ago (getting close to three weeks now) and confirmed that same day my vehicle status had changed to ‘In Production’. To date, the status remains unchanged. It’s still ‘In Production’. So I’d take the “one week” predictions with a huge grain of salt.I am still in the pre-vin/batch assigned stage, how long after did yalls VINs get assigned?
I've been in this pre-VIN status for at least a couple of weeks now. Doesn't seem to mean much for timeliness to build or even getting a VIN.
Talk to your Lucid SA.How do you find out if you're in pre-VIN status?

20/21 will handle snow better than 21/22..that's just simple physicsI have recently upgraded to the DE with 21/22 all season tire option as I live in NY and need to deal with snow. Now that the 20/21 option is available, I am having a tough time deciding between 20/21 and 21/22 all seasons. If I choose the 20/21, would I be sacrificing better handling and taut ride towards better range with the 20/21s? I had the 19" range wheels on mt GT as they were the only all season option when I ordered mine in 2021/2022.
I would really like any input from people who had an opportunity to drive the Gravity.
Thanks in advance,
This is not necessarily the case with the stock tires -- it's worth checking in on the tire/wheel thread. The Hankook on the 20/21s are specifically chosen for range and have very poor wet weather performance compared to the 21/22 Michelin.20/21 will handle snow better than 21/22..that's just simple physics
And with the addition of the NACS port in the appropriate corner of the car… the range becomes a much smaller issue for most of us. I am switching from 2 different Tesla Model X… which I really enjoyed but for the robo doors which were always awkward. Still love the windscreen and am looking forward to the similar one on the Gravity. That plus much more efficient packaging and a more useful passenger compartment makes it a great step up. The DreamDrive should improve along the way to hopefully get closer to the FSD which is excellent. I am trading a CyberTruck and hoping to not miss its best feature… the 4 wheel steering. Sounds like it could be even better than the Tesla implementation… can’t wait to try it!During his test drive of the Gravity, Kyle Conner of "Out of Spec Motoring" said he was surprised to say it, but the Gravity out-handled the Air. And just before filming he had returned a long-term Air loaner on which he and his crew put 15,000 miles.
But the more in-depth driving review was in a "Carmudgeon" podcast with Jason Cammissa, who had driven the Gravity the same day as Conner. He said that Lucid has joined Porsche as the only other manufacturer to do rear-wheel steering right. He concluded his discussion of Lucid chassis and suspension engineering by saying that the Gravity actually made the sports car category obsolete in terms of both power and handling.
As impossible as it sounds, range may be the only thing you are giving up with a Gravity compared to an Air or a sports car.
I did ask about production and he said they were not making any with the Yosemite interior and only Tahoe was being built at the moment - how true that statement was I haven't a clue.
I don't think that is accurate, these pictures are from today of Gravity for NA and many have Yosemite interior. I will post more pictures as I have time.I did ask about production and he said they were not making any with the Yosemite interior and only Tahoe was being built at the moment
I really think that the SA's don't know because of a lack of communication within Lucid. The unfortunate side affect of that is they make stuff up.I'm not entirely surprised that the advisor would provide something as factual that may as well be a complete lie. Either way, I don't have a VIN or a timeline on when I might expect my Dream Edition.
Unfortunately in the next 30-60 days my Porsche will be bought back for Lemon law and I'm going to need to make a decision about vehicle direction.
