My brother, who first put me on to Lucid back in 2016, has a 2018 Tesla Model 3. He does not want to keep it beyond the warranty period for the battery and powertrain that runs out in 2026. He has decided he would like to replace it with a Lucid Earth. (He lives in downtown Atlanta and wants something smaller than an Air or Gravity.) He's a real EV techno nut and has been especially impressed with Lucid's powertrain technology as well as their space engineering.
However, watching the months pass since Lucid delivered the first few Gravities without any meaningful delivery numbers yet materializing has left him thinking that Lucid's talk about the "arrival" of the Lucid Earth in 2026 probably means a series of press events and repeated "introductions" late in 2026, with maybe a token delivery or two, followed by a long hiatus. Having watched me sit through two Lucid product rollouts that followed this scenario, he is now assuming it's a likely pattern arising from a disconnect between Lucid's marketing strategy and their production realities.
Like me, he recognizes the numerous headwinds Lucid has encountered: a pandemic, supply chain disruptions, pushing engineering envelopes on several fronts at once, 90-degree development turns caused by late-breaking events such as the Supercharger network opening up, etc. But he knows we live in a world where such things are the recurrent order of the day and sees no reason to think the Earth rollout will be immune from them. He will not buy another Tesla, but he's now hoping a real contender to Lucid's technology and design chops arrives on the scene in the next couple of years. He knows it's a long shot, given that long development cycles mean there would likely already be signs of such a thing in the works -- and that there is apparently no engineering team at work in the industry right now outside, perhaps, of China that can nail an EV on as many scores at Lucid does.
Personally, I hope Lucid will cool their jets a bit on teasing the Earth and let the Gravity do their marketing heavy lifting for a while. If they have a third product rollout like the first two, it might become an indelible part of their reputation.

Your brother’s insight is accurate. I am confident there is a disconnection between production and sales, which may or may not be intentional.
Regarding Tesla, I gave them one last shot last year, and I can safely say I will no longer buy any Tesla in the future. I purchased the Cyberbeast because I’m also tech-focused. I love some of the technologies they have implemented, such as the 48V subsystem, steer-by-wire, and a much cleaner and more efficient CANBUS alternative. But their built quality still lags.
Still, I am excited and hyped about my Gravity. Judging by all the positive reviews and personal feedback, I’m sure it will be worth it.
See if the 2026 iX3 Neue Klasse SUV delivers on its promise. It will be out 1 year before the Earth so plenty of time to see if BMW is all hype or if there something worthwhile under the marketting before settling in and waiting for Earth.

Yes, I think it will definetly be worth it in the end, but good gosh what a process it is to get one during release. The comms have been terrible and I can only imagine how those who have been waiting since November have been hanging in there thru it all, having only been part of this for a couple months. I’ve bought new models from legacy makers and it had it’s bumps too, so they all go thru it. Better more realistic communication to reservation holders and their SAs should be given to temper expectations better. I dont think I would go thru this again for a new model next time and just wait until they are in full production but you all who went thru this with the Air and signed back up for it are REALLY impressive! 
Here’s to hoping things start really ramping up this and next month and we see many more deliveries and experiences popping up in here!

Just as a matter of perspective, Lucid is doing better on the Gravity ramp than Tesla did on the X. Both were the 2nd production vehicles for their company (Roadster was only their powertrain in a Lotus body).
I agreed. I own a 2016 MX P100D, so I remember the long wait. But honestly, my rant with Lucid is not even about ramping; it’s the messy communication between factory and sales. I would rather they tell me the truth than the false hype. Apparently, right now, no one knows where my Gravity is, despite providing me multiple timelines that are already missed. How is that possible?

I hear you - the same thing happened to me. I had a date, and the my SA opened the kimono a bit and mentioned that he had misunderstood the dates, as the Gravity process dates were different from Air, and he hadn’t learned that yet.
So the date of the stage he used to give out is less relevant for Gravity, and he thinks he knows the correct stage now but isn’t 100% certain.
This is one of those things where by the 100th Gravity they’ll have figured this out, but it’s all new right now.
Yes, I agree it should be communicated better. Internals cross-team comms needs work, now that external comms seems on the right path.
But someone knows where your car is. It’s just a matter of finding them.

Well…2 green are confirmed delivered, 0 black, white next. You literally missed nothing so far, it’s all in flight.Ugh. Hurts to have been so close since I just downgraded my white DE order to GT
Ok, start of the week update:
I paid the Studio a visit on Saturday and talked to a manager who transferred to the Studio directly from the World Center location in Miami, where I am supposed to take delivery. He checked into his system and GPSed the car. The system shows the vehicle is still at the factory. There is no ETA on transportation.
I told them I was trading in my Cybertruck for a G580 EQ this time and would pay cash for the gravity instead. They seem to believe they will have some updates by the end of the month. They will send me a new Proforma Invoice and give me at least two weeks' heads-up time.
The wait continues…
