I use them to prevent the car from heating up all the time, and I think they work well in that regard. Combined with the mesh shades Lucid sells in their store, you end up with much less heat after parking for a while.
Depends on where you live and the temperature, amount of sun, etc. But here in CO, the sun is pretty violent in the summer.

I would guess on long drives then ( not just parking) it also helps ?
Yes. I also use them while driving on very sunny days. And rear passengers do tend to enjoy the increased privacy.
