As a soon to be owner of a Lucid and one who frequently drives long distances with an A7, would be curious to know what long trips have been accomplished and how confidence do people feel with the drive? We often hear about the failures to achieve the goal, but what about the successes?
Longest that I have driven straight is 250 miles. It was a pleasure to drive and very smooth. Charged to 100% and finished at 41%. I was trying to be conservative during my first road trip and was mostly driving only 70 mph since no EA chargers along the route.
We have driven from Houston to Dallas and back once. Only issue was the very cold temperature on the way up, 26 degrees. The range was almost cut in half. The other issue was that the EA chargers were a little off the beaten path. but they did work.
My car was build in December of last year and I have not had any serious mechanical issues but after some of the recent complete drive failures, I am a little nervous about taking long trips. I might fast charge a few times locally just to see if that triggers a failure.
I've gone from Los Angeles to Gilbert,AZ 4 times and from Los Angeles to the SF Bay area 3 times with no issues. Only 1 charging stop to rest, not necessarily for charging.
Hello ALL, Currently resting at The Ahwahnee Hotel in the simply breathtaking Yosemite National Park. Picked up our car on Friday at the Millbrae location. The staff there were very good and the reveal and delivery went smoothly. From there headed to the coast and stayed at the Ritz Carlton...

I used ABRP to plan the trip. The car plans charging stops based on a SoC that is lower than really anyone physically should endure. About 30% remaining. A good feature to add is during navigation, planning on app or in the car to set a SoC that charging needs to occur. I used ABRP to find "lunch stops" at EA chargers along our route. Had issues in June with the 350kW chargers being offline but the 150kW always worked. Visited 4 National Parks and put 3,100 miles on car from delivery in Millbrae and home to Indy.
Do You go I-5 and where have you found EA chargers along the way that you had success with? If I ever get my Silver AGT that will be a route I will be using often.

Thanks to all for relaying your adventures. A lot of brave Daniel Boone types out there! As long as you stay clear of Needles it sounds fine! I think I will put on a few thousand miles on shorter trips and will then try Scottsdale to Seattle area. Looking forward to it.

EA chargers along I-5 are generally OK - though if you plug in and are not getting the charge rate you expect, try another charger rather than waiting. Harris Ranch and Castaic are a couple of the nicer locations.

LOL, at least I get a good laugh about our Luci today. I needed a smile, thank you. I would try a few DCFCs before going out on any road trips that would put you far from civilization.

Ok LA to Gilbert is 396 miles X 4 = 1584 miles
LA to SF is 381 miles X 3 = 1143 miles
So you drove a total of 2727 miles with only one charge!! Very Impressive!!
