I was told by the sales advisor that they will invite the reservation holders of Touring for test drive before they can place confirmed orders and later they will invite Pure reservation holders for a test drive. If so, they seem to have just 1 production line for 1 version at a time. Let us see if they will invite T and Pure reservation holders at the same time for test drive in Sep expect orders to be confirmed in Oct, VIN in Nov and delivery just 1 of each in Dec to say that they did what they said.

I've reserved a Touring and was invited a few weeks ago to schedule a test drive

Yes, they have been inviting Touring res holders for test drives since July 1.

I reserved a Pure AWD loaded and I am not yet invited for a test drive. I guess it could happen this month.

Did they invite you to place a confirmed order after the test drive?

I am a Touring res holder, but got my test drive (in an AGT) several months ago. I think it just depends on test drive availability and your local Lucid showroom. It never hurts to call and ask about a test drive (if you are a reservation holder).

Ah. I thought that they are offering test drives of T for T reservation holders. I know that I can ask for a test drive of AGT. I would like to test the car I want to order.

Me too! I'm really looking forward to a second test drive in the Proper Touring configuration. I'm really excited to see how the rear foot room improves with the foot wells that were created by not having batteries there.
Plus the car just drives so nicely.....

No. As far as I know, no one has been asked to confirm any Touring order.

Similar to some of the other members, I was invited to test drive the GT in May. I reserved a T trim and when asked to come out and test drive the GT, said absolutely. Given the minor differences between the two trims and the period of time we had waited to drive anyone of the trims, we welcomed the chance to [finally] road test it.

I reserved a Touring and a Pure, both in February but never got an invite for any test drive.

So I sent a message to the sales advisor I met when I saw the car at Westfield Valley Fair mall and he promptly gave me many choices of test drive of GT for the next 1 week. I have an appointment for next Sat to test drive. I decided to upgrade my 2nd EV to Fisker Ocean Extreme for 69k 350 miles AWD. If they meet production goals better than Lucid, I could get it in Q1 2023 because they will ship 5000 of the Ocean One special editions at the same 69k 350 mile AWD first to those who paid non refundable $5k.

I went the Boston showroom at the end of July and the rep there confirmed that Q4 22 to start delivering Touring is still the plan. She also said I could schedule a test drive at a location that does them (Boston does not).

Just spoke to my SA on the phone, who guesstimated Q4 2022 for Touring production start. And Q4 2022 vs Q1 2023 for production start of my particular (July 2021) Touring reservation, with delivery Q3 2023 (!) given the current 5-month lead time. It seems like the guidance given to SA and retail reps is not very uniform.

Were you limited by choices in your configuration? Such as glass canopy vs metal roof, upgraded vs base stereo, 20" wheels vs. any other size?

Just confirmed my July 2021 reservation for the tax credit - Grey, 19", glass canopy, Surreal Sound Pro, but no DreamDrive Pro.

I'm kinda on the same boat. I upgraded a Pure reservation to a GT but kept a Touring reservation. I thought the GT will be arriving in this Qtr but I highly doubt that I'll even get it this year.... As much as I like the Lucid Air, the longer I wait. the more I am having second thoughts on the GT... I do have 2 Fisker Ocean reservations and pre-ordered the launch edition. I have a feeling that my launch edition will be delivered very early next year. If the Fisker Ocean is as advertised, I will definitely buy the second one, most likely the Ultra which starts at about $ 50000. The Launch is about $ 70000..

Both will be $ 15000 less than the GT. At this point, I have decided that I probably will not take delivery of the GT but will definitely keep my Touring reservation.

I confirmed my order, but I'm assuming only a fraction of customers will. A lot of people hold multiple reservations in order to play the field and buy whatever shows up first. The sort of person who is worried about losing a $7,500 credit is likely the same person who would not want to lose 5 or 6 $1,000 deposits.

Now, if you only had one reservation, and it was only for a $300 Pure, sure. Why not confirm? Unless you are fairly certain you won't want to take delivery.

I think this will be an interesting exercise for Lucid to learn a bit more about their current reservation holders.

You can run surveys until the cows come home; you never really know a customer until you ask them for a non-refundable deposit.
