Lucid Gravity 3.4.4 Software Update

There was no Key Fob update for my car. the 3.4.4 went smoothly for me. The release notes are lacking to say the least. I feel like they needed to get it out, so they got it out and didnt wait to get the release notes finalized. Maybe they will send details soon. Looking forward to Car Play, and Paak. My phone calls sound horrible through the system, people telling me that I sound a million miles away. Service said they have many people complaining about that. 3.4.0 took care of some of the phone issues, but still mostly unusable for me and its a feature I use a lot. Maybe carplay will help with that. Fingers crossed and looking forward to the next update.

Not every update will have a key fob firmware update. An OTA also doesn’t need to be packed with a plethora of items and large release notes. It probably did exactly what it said and not that Lucid couldn’t be bothered to write a novel or hid anything.

Sounds like CarPlay and Bluetooth audio will showing up/addressed in the next update but no PaaK unfortunately.

Mine charges continuously at 80A without issue; however, this is the replacement LCHCS.
 
The DD part of 3.4.4 OTA was meant to address something with having it disengage. Not sure exactly what, but it’s specific to that.

I don’t have that issue. My DD issue is it keeps picking up exit ramp yellow suggested speeds and trying to change its speed based on that, so I turned that off for now.

Good things come to those who wait! I’d love CarPlay, but my phone doesn’t work right when it’s anywhere near the center console, so not sure how great it will be…

Usually builtin infotainment implement CarPlay by using the car's GPS so hopefully that solves the bad phone signal issue

Wow. That would be amazing. I didn’t realize that. I thought it just literally mirrored the iPhone and used the iPhone GPS, etc.

As long as the manufacturer implements it correctly it can use a combination of the built in GPS (and vehicle data like SoC) and iPhone data (which adds things like traffic and the Apple Maps alerts for accidents/construction/etc).

my DD issue currently is I can't seem to always rely on it picking up on a car at a stoplight in front early enough when going 35-40 MPH without it slamming on the brakes. A bit unnerving. (yep, I have the distance ranging set to max)

have to leave it off when the wife is in the car lest divorce proceedings commence. ;)

It's definitely a work in progress on suburban streets. You can see it's locked onto the car \ see the car in the distance but it feels like it wants to play a game of chicken with you. 90% of the time I lose the game 😂
 
Charger is installed and after almost 1 hr it's throttling down slowly to 16kw. So I hope I get this update soon and can test it out.
 
DD Pro for me overall works well on highways for extended use before and after this update. I use it frequently. The one scenario that it constantly underperforms is when somebody is merging. It doesn't want to let that person in and when they start coming into the lane I have to hit the brakes to provide room 100% of the time. Otherwise it will seemingly go within inches of the back corner of the merging car. I've let it go as close as I'm willing and it has never showed signs of wanting to slow down and provide space for the merger.

Agreed. The speed limit sign recognition feature is totally useless as it constantly picks up exit ramp reduced speed limits. I have a 2021 Mercedes that has speed limit sign recognition and it will occasionally pick up on exit ramp speeds but not nearly as often as with my Gravity.

Also, with an ICE car, if it accidentally picks up on exit ramp speeds, when cruise control kicks off, there is no regen braking and you continue coasting with just minimal slowing. With an EV like Gravity set to standard regen, cruise kicking off causes abrupt, almost dangerous braking, especially in traffic.

To me, this is so much of a possible safety issue, it should be eliminated until Lucid can figure out how to make it significantly more reliable.

Just turn it off. Some of us still find it useful.

DD, DD Pro and virtually all other manufacturers ADAS systems with the exception of Teslas FSD are primarily designed for highway use and should not be used in city/suburban surface street driving. This will hopefully change with upcoming NVIDIA implementation at end of year but until then, it is best to only rely on Dd/DD Pro on highways.

So did I. But I just ran into a similar situation. Our Porsche Macan EV location services flaked out over the last week. Shows the wrong location on the map, speed sign recognition wouldn't work, ACC wouldn't work, etc. Looks like it was all because location services were messed up. (It magically all started working again yesterday.)

But here was the really weird part... Android Auto location was similarly screwed up. Even when looking at Google Maps on my phone! (While connected to the car via AA.) That really confused me since like you I thought AA simply mirrored the phone GPS.

19 lkw to 16 lkw isn't bad, the ones of us impacted severely were dropping 40% from 19 kw to 11kw prior to the 3.4.1 update...Then it started dropping 70% and worse...I just got the update notice and started the update but I'm out of town and won't know the impact of the new software update until Sunday night...Please let us know your car's performance when you have a chance...Thx!

By hour 2, it was down to 13kw.

I'll report back in 2 hrs or so.
