Gravity Delivery Discussion

Took delivery yesterday.
No obvious problem until this morning.
Parked the car in the garage.
Got out, closed the doors, then almost immediately had to get back in the car to back out.
Key bob not recognized despite vigorous shaking -- I had put in new battery 2 hours earlier as a preventive measure.
Putting a key card on the console solved the problem, but this is annoying.
What if I had been at a bad spot and needed to get out fast?
What happened in my garage is tolerable nuisance, but this can be a serious security risk for someone elsewhere.
I know all of the above have been expressed ad nausea, but just want to add one more feedback to the choir from a 1-day old car.

Make sure the service center did all of the software updates AND the fob updates (done through the Lucid app). There have been a few people who had their cars delivered in the last week that didn't get the 3.3.20 update or fob updates.

I took delivery last Friday and they were apparently going to give it to me with 3.3.9 but the 3.3.20 update started while they were finishing detailing. After I got home I checked the fob and it hadn't been updated at all.

I got an email 3 days ago for $500 of accessories if we purchase or lease a Lucid by Dec 31. Seems to be a generic promo not related to us having already purchased a Gravity (picked it up last Friday). Anybody else get this, and know if it applies to recent deliveries?

I asked and I was told that it does. My SA said she would send me the code once available

Interesting . Since I don't qualify for any of the EOY incentives and my SA is completely unresponsive, I asked for some token incentives. Hate paying retail for anything.

Can't even get this. They are seriously not trying very hard to sell.

Yes, I did all that yesterday.
Kind of weird that pre-delivery, the Lucid portal showed the car was installed 3.3.20 twice, but the update was there for me to do after the delivery.
The key fobs were up to date, however.

Got yet another email solicitation for $500 credit in accessories, just this morning.

Still no response via email or phone call from my delivery specialist, regarding my inquiries about the first email solicitation I received on December 22nd.

I texted my sales advisor earlier this week before the email came out and she said that I'd be getting the credit but that they do them in batches so it would likely be "in the next week or so". I assume they're busy/off for the holiday right now so it might be a bit slower.

Oh, wait! I wrote in haste. My sales advisor (different from delivery specialist), just texted me unprompted (by me).

My SA got a message from his manager regarding my inquiry. I should be getting an email containing the code “in the next 4-5 days”. Okay, then!

I should see about getting that code as well.

Finally took delivery late in the evening (21:00) on Dec 23. I had almost no communication from the SA after he scheduled the delivery likely due to the holidays. It came in a two car enclosed trailer pulled by a pickup truck. I don't expect they are delivering many to New Mexico at this time.

So far it is working very well and drives much better than my '23 Model X. This is saying something because I love to drive the X (or did before some of the craziness of the last several years). I have noticed some issues but they are minor. The frunk never opens on the first attempt (sound familiar?) and a mobile tech is going to come out and realign it. I have had the infotainment crash 4-5 times but I think I have isolated when it happens. It only started crashing after I enabled auto lock/unlock. In fact, right after enabling the feature it crashed every time I got into the car. Since disabling the feature it has been solid and I re-enabled it today to see if the issue recurs to verify.

Ordered: Aug 4, 2025
Pre-VIN assignment: Early Oct, 2025
In-production: Dec 1, 2025
Finished production: Dec 3, 2025
Finished PDI: Dec 20, 2025
Delivered: Dec 23, 2025

So, is anyone taking delivery after Dec 31st? Curious.

Got my GGT from the Ceramic Pro shop. Pretty excited! I don’t know why I say this but this thing is even more fun to drive than my Air GT, if that’s even possible.

Question - I checked in the glove box. No hard copy of the Owners Manual. Is this standard now?

I picked up my Black/Stealth 20/21" wheels fully loaded yesterday afternoon. The fit and finish is nearly perfect. There was one trim piece for the second row sliding mechanism that was missing. John took care of that while we were setting up profiles. After getting home, I went back out the the car to set up Homelink and Gravity decided to recline the drive seat all of the way. I took that as a message to try the massage function. Of course that felt great. The only real issue that I have seen is the HUD started wigging out, it displayed normally for a few minutes then started flashing different parts of the HUD image in different areas of the display, then turned all white, then turned itself off. That cycle repeated several times during my short drive. I will see if it is still acting up after a good sleep last night.

A big shout out the Scottsdale team for a fantastic delivery.

Glad to hear that you finally got your vehicle. I’ve had the reclined seat problem a few times and it seemed to be related to some incomplete profile switching. As far as the HUD issue: Maybe it’s a good sign in that I haven’t heard of that before and you may be exposing some new HUD bug that may lead to a new fix.

I’ve only ever seen the HUD do that once, and it was as the car was booting. I wonder if your HUD got caught in a reboot loop somehow?

Bought a tire certificate from Discount Tires for $440.
The price elsewhere may be lower as I'd learned lower prices in Calif than what I paid here in Az for the Air.
In the event that a new tire is needed, for the Michelin 21, 22 inch, will take them 1-3 days to get these ( coming from warehouses in Calif and Utah)
Washed the car today and found a loose plastic rivet from the rear door. Had to use a hammer on a drum stick to push it back in.
Found two spots where the glue for the rubber gaskets actually landed way, way away from the gaskets.
While cleaning the frunk, I unknowingly pressed the fob against the fender and the trunk came down.
I heard the dings, and immediately jumped aside, but not far or fast enough.
The frunk very lightly touched my head and automatically reversed, so it didn't take that much force/impact for the closing motion to stop, which is a good thing.
Note to self: don't leave the fob in the pant pocket while drying the car to prevent unintended closure of trunk/frunk.
The trunk and frunk will close even after extended period of time, unlike the Air.
While at it, I also applied Gummi Pflege Weatherstrip & Seal Conditioner, which I had bought a while back per recommendation from @Bobby.
Played around with the HUD a bit today. The resolution is ok but can be better.
Haven't seen the blue oval yet, but do see reflection of the HUD borders as well as part of the dashboard.
I may custom make some sort of dashmat to eliminate the reflection.
Cameras are as good as in the Air, unlike in the test drive months ago.
Big gaps around the seat belt buckle and we already had to fish out a wayward Airpod case.
As suggested by another forum member, I bought those:

Still searching for a way to allow auto-lock but disable auto-unlock, so if anyone has found a solution, let's share.

It’s nice that second row opens fully as the holes are huge around buckles, as mentioned. Already had several things fall through. Don’t like the way those other things look so will just deal with pulling stuff out every now and then. Also, be careful as the seat with two buckles in back only has one that’s raised. So if you put that protector in, it covers/blocks access to middle row buckle.

Discount Tire will also price match on competitors including mail order companies.

Just curious who else sells tire certificate (warranty) for Lucid cars?
