Adding some Improvements based on a couple of weeks of owning the Gravity (and under a week of driving)

My must fix ASAP list :
1. Make live view work on WiFi all the time - except when occupied. Really not sure why there’s a restriction while charging etc.
2. The climate operation for gravity needs considerable improvement - after having the car for a few days and i still cannot figure out if the AC is in auto or manual mode.
3. Maps - if you are in traffic, the blue nav line is hidden *behind* the red traffic indicator!! I had to zoom out multiple times to understand where I was, and if the directions were still working.
4. Remote *anything* is sporadic at best. Remote Climate control hasnt worked a single time since I took delivery- it’s also not clear in the app if anything is on. The seats aren’t heated even though it shows on the app.
5. Car keys / fob / etc etc. too many folks with this issue.
6. Remote start from app.


Not immediate but significant QOL improvements

1. Rear / front / side view cameras should not be speed restricted. On my model 3 we can turn on any time - It’s excellent for driving in tricky places (20-30 mph).
2. UI color scheme needs to better. On console and on the app. In low light or bright light, it’s hard to make out brown text on dark background. Lucid seriously needs usability experts to go through each screen to figure out what’s supposed to be there. They are significantly gimping the user experience on a premium car.
3. Live traffic view like on the Tesla.

Lucid has clearly stated this is in beta so changes are likely to come in the near future.

The climate screen is pretty clear. If the word “auto” is greyed out then it’s pretty clear that it’s in manual mode.

4. Remote *anything* is sporadic at best. Remote Climate control hasnt worked a single time since I took delivery- it’s also not clear in the app if anything is on. The seats aren’t heated even though it shows on the app.

Do you have cell coverage? It works flawlessly for me and even better since the most recent update with how quickly the app connects to the car now.

It’s an EV, not an ICE car. What are you trying to remote start?

You purchased a Lucid, not a Tesla. Lucid has things Tesla doesn’t just like Tesla has things Lucid doesn’t. You need to weigh up how important those are to you when weighing up your purchase vs expecting a carmaker to copy.

Huh? If there’s a number for the fan setting, it’s manual. If there’s just a fan, it’s auto. Seemed obvious to me?

This works perfectly fine on ours. Are you on the latest software and app?

What does this mean? There is no “start.” If you mean wake up, remote climate achieves that.

If it has to be explained what these do, then they are not well designed.

On remote start - if you don’t have the keys for any reason, a remote driver should be able to enable the car to drive. Had happened to me personally when my phone ran out of charge and my spouse unlocked and allowed me to drive the Tesla.

Right now that’s not an option. Or add a pin to drive.

You are making my point. This has to be explained and atleast for me personally, this does not make any sense.

Tbh this is not how auto works on most all other cars - auto means figure out the best way to get to the assigned temp.
Does The other auto (3rd one ) override the other 2 auto? If not by not, if yes, then why have multiple ?

It’s explained pretty clearly in the manual. The car has 4 zone climate control so it allows you to manually set the temp for each zone or set it to auto for each zone. Gives flexibility. Sync button will override and set the drivers climate settings to all zones.

I literally knew how it worked on my first try.

The passenger and driver each have their own climate. They can set theirs to whatever temperature, speed, or auto.

Sync… syncs… passenger and driver.

The other auto has the same symbol that has been in every vehicle I have ever owned, and refers to air circulation being internal or external.

On the live view, unfortunately my experience has not been the same as some of other people. It mirrors the majority - live view in general stutters on WiFi.
It also doesn’t work when charging.

Honestly that’s all I’m saying. IMO These changes will make it better for everyone.

Of course there will be folks for whom a one off feature is “working” (see AC).

My interpretation of "ASAP" is probably different from yours.
ASAP says to me, significant impact on basic operation, possible safety issue if not corrected immediately, dire need.
With exception of fob/card issue and the impact on operation, the others on you ASAP list fit on the QOL list.

Incidentally, in that world, there is the distinct possibility that there exists no possible iteration or design that isn’t confusing, since based on the unspecified definition of “isn’t confusing to @Ironhorse” something can always be confusing.

Anyway, I didn’t have to read the manual to understand it; it worked just like every other car I’ve owned.

Perhaps look at it this way.

1. There is a giant 10 inch screen in the car - With 60% space to do / write something meaningful.
2. But despite that, the only way you can figure out how in the world climate control works is by reading a user manual.

I mean even you had to read a user manual to figure it out, and yet somehow that’s ok?

That’s a no for me. That UI 100% needs to be better designed. And while they are at it, the color scheme / usability needs to be better for those screens.

Everyone has a different level of understanding. It’s ok that it was not clear to you and that’s what the manual is for. It made perfect sense to me and others but to another person it might be unclear, just like the seat warmers may be unclear to them, but I don’t believe that’s bad design. If it was not clearly laid out in the manual, I’d tend to agree then. But as it stands, you appear to be the first to question it. You do bring up some other good suggestions tho like key fobs and live traffic view.

He said he DIDN’T need to read the manual to figure it out, nor did I. It’s been like this since the Air was launched and you’re the first person I’ve seen that’s making a big deal about it. Clearly it’s not that big of a deal to everyone else.

In the interest of not losing focus on improvements, I’m ready to move on from the AC screen. That not a hill I’m going to die on. I have my observation and I’ll stick to it. Likely nothing will change on that screen.

My app works perfectly to control hvac, seats, etc from app to car and I can if a window is open, etc. It reminds me if a door is left open (which my kids love to do), etc.

Software Priorities 1-10 for me are fix all bugs. That will keep them busy for a while - so I guess 2026 is a good title for the thread.

Live View - turning off WiFi is fine for now. It’s the least of my issues with bugs. Personally, I don’t care to have it at all - what is the use case other than “Tesla and Rivian have it”? I would prefer they focus on more useful features to be used more regularly (for me). As long as it doesn’t record motion, etc, I don’t need it. If it only worked for security, I’d be fine with it.

Seeing the cameras while driving would be great.
