Gravity Delivery Discussion

It is programmed and works. See the "reprogram" button.
Mine looks the same. I don't have any options for Auto-Activate. I just see Delete and Reprogram. I've got the garage door mapped to the configurable steering wheel button.

Sounds like they removed those options while they work out the bugs

But aren’t you running the same software that everybody else is running?

As I mentioned, "This is from an email they sent in August when it had a bug, but I assume they've fixed it now."

That's why it says Zak Edson at the top left :P

The not-so-good answer is that they're not really ready yet, but they delivered them anyway to get them on the books for that quarter rather than work on them longer to get the bugs fixed.
Yeah I can confirm that’s not true. Otherwise I’d have my car right now and they would have added it to the Q3 delivery numbers.

Wow ! More than 60 Gravity show as available for purchase now (or 2 weeks) . Makes me wonder how many orders they still
need to fill other than those waiting on HUD displays.

How long did folks have to wait from VIN being shared to delivery?
I changed my order to a CGT in production on 8/31. Was informed yesterday it is on the truck coming to Florida.

It could be that orders w/ HUD outnumber orders without that option.
Agreed. Hopefully with a large supply of random builds available for new buyers who want something soon and aren’t as picky about options, the factory can start focusing on the backlog of orders with Tech package. I would be willing to bet that the vast majority of outstanding orders over 4 months old are ones with Tech package. Hopefully they have a large enough supply of HUDs to address this backlog.

I am also noticing that the Available Vehicles list is growing and they are not moving nearly as fast as last week. I also noticed that none of them are shown as being at a location and none have a Delivery Fee. I have a feeling that last couple weeks Lucid delivered a bunch of random Gravity to various locations and then opened up the Available Vehicles listings and by tacking on the delivery fee, they prioritized local buyers that could close quickly by EOQ. Now that quarter is over, this delivery fee is gone so that it does not hinder selling these units. 2-4 weeks delay in sale to allow for delivery does not matter to Lucid at this point.

On the tracking spreadsheet here, 75% of the folks ordered the tech package, i.e. HUD. Which now stands for Huge Unforeseen Delays!
That percentage is possibly lower than 75.
However, I get your point with the renamed acronym.

When that spreadsheet was prepared, Tech Package included the HUD.
The option of the Power Package did not exist.
The options were Standard UX or Tech Package upgrade.

After my test drive in May, I decided to forego the HUD and go with the Power Package(PP).
However, the option to select PP on the tracking form.

Just got a call that my GDE is supposed to be already in route to Tysons. Dunno if that means someone canceled and I moved up in the line or what, but exciting!
I was a little dubious about this and it did turn out to be end of quarter confusion / garbled comms. Still, should have the vehicle in a few weeks hopefully.

wow. dissappointing.

this was the worst experience I could have imagined. I spent 7 hours trying to take this Gravity home. and nothing, except losing my $1k deposit.

My sales advisor confirmed my lease deal last week. the numbers were done. I was getting a certain amount for my trade in, a $7,500 ev credit and a $2k trade in incentive. the rest was simple math to get to my lease deal. this was all confirmed last week via text.

the lucidmotors website did not show the deal and my SA said that is fine. he said because i have a trade in nothing finalizes until i bring the car in. well, I did.

after hours of changing registrations, spending time setting up my new gravity, and all the back end work they do, they started to put paper in front of me to sign. so i start signing. then at the very end around 7 pm at night, they want me to sign my trade in title. I ask to confirm the trade in price and VOILA! the offer i received was changed. it was lower which made the lease higher in cost. when i said that this did not make sense, they went back and forth.

long story short…. i did my trade in inspection four days ago. got the offer and my SA gave me the final price. well, some guy from [email protected] sent me an email right after the inspection that the price offered was lowered. i did not see this email as it was not from LUCID!! my SA never saw this email either. so both of us thought the car was priced higher. in addition, they tell me the $2k trade in incentive does not exist for the gravity. i learn all lf this 6 hours into the buying experience.

needless to say, I was tired and said no. we move with the deal I was told and the reason why I am here or nothing. they tried hard for me to understand the mistake they made and for me to accept the lower offer for my trade in and the removal of the incentive. but, I am old, and I was tired. I said no.

They then told me I would lose my $1k deposit which I made in November of 2024.

so, no car, no $1k, terrible experience.

this is the end for me with Lucid.

i have been a true Lucid fan since buying my Air in 2023. I have many referrals and convinced many friends to buy Lucid. i still have over 90k unused referral points. I have participated in several Lucid member rallies and always talked up the brand.

that ended today.

this will be my last post here (at least for now). I went from a person dreaming of the Gravity to now a person who wants the 11 months left ln my Lucid Air lease to come by fast so I can get rid of it.

so long Lucid and good luck.
This is terrible customer service and I don't balme you for wanting to bail...but that handling, the driving experience, dang....that's tough one

Regarding the $2,000 trade in, even if @Andre4k did not qualify - they would have qualified for the $2,000 loyalty offer.
Clearly, the finance & SA did not know what they were talking about. Hopefully, if @Andre4k will give Lucid another chance & get the right Lucid personnel to resolve this

That's not true. His wasn't an on-site Gravity, but preordered, so he wouldn't qualify.

Doesn't make the situation better, but he did not qualify for this discount.

I don't know why we keep having this conversation on the forum. It was clear on the official Lucid website that the original $2,000 Loyalty Offer was only for a qualified Air, and it is likewise clear on the website that the new offer that covers a Gravity acquisition only extends to Gravities bought from inventory, not one ordered to personal configuration.

Yet posters keep insisting the offer is available in other circumstances no matter how many times they are pointed to the very clear language on the Lucid website.

Of course, Lucid has contributed to this by not getting their Sales Advisors on the same page about the issue. But this persistently-repeated misinformation on the forum is not helping matters by keeping hopes alive that what Lucid officially says about the offers somehow, some way can be ignored.

Most of them are missing something key - like loaded by only 12 ways seats or no Dynamic Handling or have the lower tier interiors, etc. My point is they’re some pretty random configs that I think folks who already have an order wouldn’t “settle” for at this point.

As for demand, well, Gravity is AMAZING and I love it, but demand is only so deep for $100,000+ EVs - especially with unattractive leasing and financing. I do think it’s enough for them to hit their 2025 targets, but I expect some better deals by year end.

Perhaps. I don't really know, of course, but pushing out a surge at the end of the quarter to get them on the books just seems like a situation where they'd have normally kept them a little longer to fix more of the bugs had it been elsewhere in the quarter.

Not saying they're put out anything with serious issues, but I suspect the bar is lowered a bit on the nagging issues at the end of the quarter. I'm kinda hoping mine comes early or mid-quarter, not in a last week rush.
