I wonder what it is with this rear drive unit. Seems to be a rare but ongoing issue.
IDK, but as I’ve mentioned before, my 2016 P90D X needed a new rear drive unit (the performance motor) a week after I got the car. Stuff happens…I wonder what it is with this rear drive unit. Seems to be a rare but ongoing issue.

Did Lucid mention what was wrong with the unit, and the root cause of the failure?I also had a rear drive unit replaced on my GDE. While I wasn't thrilled about this, I was happy with how Lucid arranged to have the car transported 150 miles to the nearest service center in an enclosed truck and then worked to get it back to me before a weekend where I needed it.
Unfortunately, they did not. The replacement was prompted by a cascade of errors including one about reduced power being available. I then noticed hesitation when accelerating from a stop and that concerned the field escalation team enough that they insisted on replacing it. It wasn't obvious to me that replacement was necessary as all errors cleared and the car performed normally after a sleep cycle.Did the mention what was wrong with the unit, and the root cause of the failure?

Put one of the seats slightly forward. I’ve put mine about 2 to 3 inches forward compared to the other and the squeak stopped. I’m guessing all Lucid is doing is a temporary fix until a proper resolution is found as it appears it’s prominent in all vehicles. My second row seat squeak is back after being addressed at the service center. I can minimize the squeak by leaving the second row folded flat, but that doesn't completely eliminate it. Has anyone had this fixed and had the fix last more than a week? I've had it fixed twice and neither fix has lasted. If so, can you please detail the fix so I can run it by my mobile tech?
Like HC_79, I was able to find a sweet spot position of both back seats (with the seats very slightly offset from each other) and the squeak has not returned ever since moving the seats to that position over a month ago. You might be able to find the sweet spot by hopping around in the 2nd row and playing around with the positioning until you don't hear it anymore. That's what I did, at least. Took about a min to do.My second row seat squeak is back after being addressed at the service center. While the car may be reporting its location to Lucid's servers, I would hope that they have strong data protections in place that make it difficult for most Lucid employees to access data that could compromise an owner's privacy. I view it as a good sign that the service center personnel appear to not have access to the vehicle's location. Not sure whether a Service Center can access this or has to get it from HQ.
