Lease return excess wear & tear

My lease return was processed today at the King of Prussia service center.... (it was dropped off Sat but they must have just got to it) ... I'll be finding out soon enough what the outcome is.
I got my inspection report yesterday and had $0 in charges.... though, this was done again by AutoVINLive, so I *think* BoA is still going to be doing their inspection, which was been the real stickler.

I do find it semi comical that both inspections have noted the 'mismatched tire sizes' , despite it being exactly as it came from the factory.

Possible good news. We'll have to wait to know for sure but the saga isnt over.

The person on the phone stated, a new final invoice was just mailed out yesterday. I asked if it was different from the one I have and he said yes, but would not say on the phone what has changed. Only that I should call back after I receive it.

I would call that progress. However for it to not be a "one off", I'd like to know if any other forum members have received updated Final Invoices. Plus who knows what's in the final invoice. The condition report that's still available on Autovinlive still shows the same amount as it did back in July.
Looks like I spoke too soon. Received another invoice today. Amount was reduced from $5,820.38 to $5,235.38. No explanation for the reduction was given. The condition report I’ve already shared in earlier posts has not changed at all.

I’m assuming this is being done as some kind of courtesy without acknowledgment of any kind of errors or wrong doing (standard corporate stuff).

I'm gonna make one final phone call and probably pay this and just move on with my life. Those who think changes are being made at Lucid or that they're taking this seriously, make what you want of this.

I would have been a Lucid customer for life. They would have made much more than $5k from me over the next several years but this is the path they've chosen. Selling whatever stock I have left and washing my hands off this brand permanently.

As I thought, they just waited for the press attention to pass and swept it under the rug.

What a bummer - apparently the belief is that you’ll take the $500 reduction and you’ll like it. Sorry you have to exit stage left with this sour taste in your mouth.

If you shear a sheep you can get wool for life. If you skin a sheep you only get to do it once.

Not good. They didn't even give you any explanation? This is what Lucid needs to be focused on right now; not Timothy 😔.

Sounds like folks need to take this into consideration at lease end whether it’s worth buying it out. It may make sense to buy it, hang on another year or two, then sell privately or trade it in. It’s really impossible to know, though. Personally I plan on just buying mine unless the company goes under or my car starts having major problems

I did consider it. However my residual was $58k. No way I was buying it. Trade in value at the time was right around $40k. That said, wrongfully charging for normal wear and tear is NOT the way to encourage people to make a bad financial decision on top of the bad financial decision to lease a Lucid.

Yes. I transitioned into a new lease immediately and was still charged $200 for a small wheel scratch.

Were you given any option to roll any lease turn in charges into new lease ?

I’m way over miles with 6 months still left on lease! I’m trying figure out if I lease a new Lucid now if they will forgive any mileage??!!?

more than likely no, Lucid leases are sold to Bof A and lucid has no control over the lease deal

Best option mate is to buy it at the end of the lease or pay the penalties. Whichever makes more financial sense.

I had some faith that Lucid would address this as it’s easily a top 3 impactful thing to their brand — folks who have taken the plunge with them and would be most likely to do so again being treated like trash.

having faith is nice but here in the mean old world the reality is that an unthinking entity has control of your lease and regardless of having faith they will try to extract as much money from you to salvage the bad arrangement that they entered into with lucid.

So sorry to hear your experience. Just one quasi correction: Lucid isn't making that $5K, B of A is making it. But Lucid picked B of A to be its leasing partner so I agree with you that Lucid is responsible for the experience even though it may not currently have any power over it. And I can't blame you for walking away; if this had happened to me I would do the same.

I will be returning my Air next month and will post updates of my experience with the return steps here.

The process was initiated this week following the guidelines at - https://lucidmotors.com/knowledge/o...ease-end#lucid-excess-wear-and-use-guidelines

With no intention of purchasing my leased vehicle (like the car, but I would want different options for long-term ownership) and having visited Tyson's Galleria to check out the Gravity, I skipped contacting a sales specialist. Moving on to scheduling the pre-inspection, I attempted AutoVIN's site first, but was unable to authenticate and was directed to call. When I called, the representative was helpful, but also unable to schedule the pre-inspection. He stated LFS had not yet created my account, so I would need to call them to sort it out.

After a not-so-great start getting bounced from LFS to Customer Care (not sure why), then transferred again only to be dropped into a voice mail box, I called the Tyson's Galleria sales staff and they were very helpful directing me to a different LFS customer service number that put me in the hands of someone who was able to help. I was told my account with AutoVIN would be created, but to allow 24-48 hours before attempting to schedule the pre-inspection.

Two days later I received a call from a Customer Lease Pre-Inspection Coordinator at LFS to schedule the pre-inspection. He found an appointment block that would fit my schedule toward the end of next week - scheduling is done in 4 hour increments for either the morning or afternoon. The pre-inspection is completed at your residence, so no need to travel to a service center if you are a good distance from one. The coordinator counseled to have both key fobs, valet cards, owner's manual, and charging cable available for the inspection.

While on the line with Tyson's Galleria earlier, I did go ahead and schedule my lease return appointment for the last weekend in September. Pessimistically optimistic for a fair turn in.

More to follow next week.
Been a busy few weeks...thanks DOGE.

Pre-inspection with AutoVin went well. Good communication with the inspector before the appointment and he was fairly thorough. Documented four small chips in the front bumper and a couple small chips on the chrome-ish plastic LUCID strip between the bumper and hood. No repair costs on the write up for those. Also wrote up a large crack in the windshield, which I was aware of - my luck would be to replace it before turn in and get a large chip driving to the Service Center on turn in day. Cost for that is $2,500.

All in all, pretty much what I expected. Now, to wait and see what happens with the real inspection.

It is so stupid and such a waste of time to have this be a multi step process. WTF is a pre-inspection even? If I am turning in my car, let me schedule the return, get it inspected at that moment, and be done - you know, like every other lease I’ve ever had from every other car company.

My other cars I just brought it in to the dealer, they looked at it for 5 minutes, took the keys, and sent me on my way (no charges for small chips or anything like that).

I just got my inspection report for my car, two wheels with minor curb rash, $200 per wheel, which I think is excessive, I haven't received my final invoice. we'll see how they bill it out

Is that all there was on the inspection? Also do you care commenting on big or small the rash were?
