Gravity Bugs / Issues

Does anyone know if the 3.2.2 update fixed the Pet Mode issue where you have to enable it from the app instead of inside the car? Took my pooches with me to the market and used the app because I wasn't sure.

Pet mode/keep mode work. Keep mode only works for 1 hr though. Creature comfort works until 2% battery.

I’ve not been able use the mic on our 2022 X or 2023 R1S. Everyone always says I sound terrible. So I’ve gotten used to using my AirPods and will continue to do so in the Gravity.
It's a good workaround, but would also frustrate me. I don't normally wear earpods, and don't answer a lot of calls when driving. But on the occasion I do answer, I wouldn't want to find and insert earpods, all while also trying to drive the car.

I'm not trusting it yet. Had my dogs yesterday and just used the app too.

...

Lucid is playing Russian roulette with its reputation by continuing to put these cars in the field before the known problems with them are resolved. The rough first year of Air production was dealing mostly with a small early-adopter customer base with some tolerance for teething pains and a superb service network that proved up to the task. The Gravity's first year will not have those advantages to the same extent.

(Here's the YouTube video I referenced if anyone is interested.)
It's been interesting reading the recent service reports where physical pieces of the car have been redesigned. I think we've now heard about both the front Lucid light strip and the center console, and maybe one other part? It sounds to me like Lucid is taking fixes seriously, but is struggling to provide them to existing owners. I'll be closely watching posts on this thread from new owners to see how the quality is evolving. And for the next software update.

It is fixed. I’ve tested it.

Keep mode, as described in the manual, maxes out at 1hr - this is different from the Air.

Creature comfort goes until the battery is at 2%.

@borski has picked up word that a new lens for the HUD unit is also being developed.

It's be interesting to see if something changes about the second-row seat noises so many are experiencing.

I used it yesterday from within car when car was parked in a cool garage for 40 minutes. Worked perfectly fine. I, too, was skeptical. And I freaked out because I couldn’t check in car since it was in an underground garage. Hence the focus on ensuring I tried it in a garage with a relatively low temp.

Anyone else have the “vehicle offline” app issue? This started last night and happened again today. None of the app controls work obviously but when I go to drive the car, the app will stay connected for a couple hours then go offline.

Yes. I had it start yesterday and my car was in my driveway on WiFi and charging. Seems to be random. Hasn’t happened again today (yet)…

Good point....fixes that require redesign are hard for existing owners. I have R1T Launch Edition and it took a while before they got around replacing my powered tonneau cover with the redesigned one.

I'm now wondering if, besides a new HUD unit and possibly a new ACU due to a frozen nav system, we're also going to have to have a new front console. For the past three days our key fob will not allow the car to be put into gear. It will open the doors and turn on the car (as functions such as profile changes work), but the car will not go into gear. On two separate outings today with several errands on each, I finally just put the key card in my shirt pocket instead of my wallet, as I got tired of digging it out every time I got into the car.

For a car that drives so incredibly well, this growing symphony of UI woes is beyond infuriating and is now just getting downright exhausting. For the first time, I've begun to consider canceling our order for the second GDE, as I just cannot deal with starting a new round of this.

That’s my hope…I guess will just let it be as it seems to be fine. I don’t see an issue, but if everyone said “mine closes quietly” I’d be more concerned.
Sorry for the delayed post. I’ve been in Europe the past 2 weeks. My car sat at the SC for 10 days before it was looked at. I asked why they scheduled service if they weren’t going to work on the car. “Busy season” was all I got out of them. In any case, one of the reported issues was the rear hatch closing and rubbing (leaving marks). Apparently this is “normal” operation. I had issues with the rear seat not moving up properly when pressing the button and they claim to have fixed it. I’m on the flight home right now so I haven’t had a chance to test it. My issue with the wipers going on by themselves was attributed to them being in the auto position (even though they were off and would not turn off when continuing to press the off button) Easier for them to attribute it to user error. They did install my Homelink hardware that was missing so I’ll be setting that up when I get home. Frankly, I can’t even remember what else was on the list when they picked it up, but apparently all issues are resolved according to them.

I texted the service manager who is going to replace our HUD next week and try to get to the bottom of our frozen nav system to ask him to add the key fob issue we're having to the work order. He agreed to but said this was the first he'd heard of any key fob issues with the Gravity. I asked whether he had heard anything about a new front console being developed to deal with key fob antenna wiring issues in the current one, but he said he had heard nothing about that, either.

Hadn’t heard of the fob issue? That’s crazy. The first thing my SA said at delivery was “here’s the fob, don’t rely on it as there are issues, so always keep a card on you…”

If your service center had a Gravity for demo drives, my guess is they would’ve heard about it. Or if they’ve delivered a Gravity.

Not complaining, but of all issues, the fob should be well known by now. We know the guy from Lucid who is on X (I forget his name) has addressed it directly…

Who knows, maybe they brushed it off because they’re sick of everyone bringing it up to them every 5 mins when an email went out acknowledging the issue and timeframe it would be resolved in.

FWIW - 2 months in and my key has worked with very minimal issues. Probably needed to use the card 2 or 3 times. For some though, even that seems to be unacceptable.

I know it doesn't make it feel any better, but as a counterpoint, ours remains relatively flawless. I say this only to suggest that your very issue-filled vehicle may have more to do with your luck rather than major production issues. You seem to have a penchant for collecting all the issues, lol. I can't imagine it feels great.

Ain't that the truth. It was the same with our early Air, if you recall.

Yes. How very inconsiderate of us.

But if you weren't so defensive, you might have noticed that my post said I texted him only to let him know I was having the problem so that he could put it on the service ticket when the car goes in next week in case it might involve changing something about the console wiring that has to be done in a Service Center. Even if a new part is not yet available, they keep a list of customers for whom they need to order a part in case that is warranted. But they first have to know the customer is having that problem.

It is interesting to read that many of us have the same issues but then some of us have a particular issue that maybe not everyone experiences. My HUD unit has not be a problem. I can see the data and the outline of the screen in the reflection by nothing warped or distorted as some have commented. I abandoned the key card, although I do carry it just in case. No two cars appear to have all the same issues, which is actually more troubling if you follow that logic to it's conclusion.
