Anyone have any advice or experience with getting Modesta BC-04 for Ceramic coating? I know it’s a nano titanium coat that is hydrophilic rather than your traditional hydrophobic coat.

Just curious if it’s worth the extra cost. Quoted 2k for it.
 
@dhruv How did yours turn out? And did you do tints at Deep Reflections too?

Just picked up my Gravity and thinking about doing the whole works but have no experience and slowly searching/reading through the forums
 
Need some help from the thread where folks clearly care about exterior care and protection. What do you recommend for spot cleaning exterior? Example - bird poop but could also be small splashes from rain, etc.

I am not getting full ppf as I am leasing, so this will be cleaning directly on the paint with a shammy and some sort of spray..:any input is appreciated.

Just to be clear I am not shilling for Deep Reflections and there is no benefit accruing to me in any way. That said my car is 3 1/2 years old and the PPF/Ceramic coating is still in outstanding condition. Also no problems with my window tinting. Alejandro and his crew do excellent work and their pricing is very competitive. Just make an appointment for a quote and tell Alejandro SaratogaLefty (Bernie) sent you and you want the Lucid Forum discount. With a black vehicle you will definitely want full coverage in my opinion.

Yeah, them and OCDetailing are definitely my fav shops. I just prefer STEK film and I like the guys at OCD, but nothing bad to say about DR.

Sounds like you are wanting a waterless car wash...there are many products to choose from but one that gets mentioned alot is the optimum no rinse wash. https://a.co/d/94ZUDMl

What you're looking for is called a Quick Detail spray. If you go for a Rinseless wash solution like Optimum No Rinse, you can dilute the solution to QD level and put it in your own spray bottle. But if you're looking for an off the shelf product, you're looking for Quick Detailer and some Microfiber towels. For towels, generally a thick plush microfiber or a waffle weave microfiber are used.

Waffle Weaves and a can of Sprayway glass cleaner are great for windows as well.

That’s exactly what I am looking for. I use ONR for washing but I guess I could use it to spot clean and was wondering if there was something else that was meant for that. Thanks.
 
Aero Wash Wax all works well for spot cleaning. In general I prefer it to ONR.

Thank you for the information. I just picked up my Gravity from Alejandro yesterday after they had done the final coating. Didn't disappoint.
 
A couple of weeks ago I applied a coat of Turtle Wax Ceramic Spray to the Xpel Ultimate Fusion PPF on our green Gravity. I can't believe how clean it's kept the car. After a recent rain that would have left dried spots on the lower panels of our other cars (including our Air with the same PPF), you couldn't tell the car had been in a rain -- not even in the bright sunshine of the next morning. And I don't even have to use a damp cloth or anything else to get bugs off the front bumper. I just brush them lightly away with my hand. And the powdery dust we pick up when driving by the many construction sites around us, besides showing less accumulation than before, just brushes away with the lightest of swipes from a California Duster.

I don't know how long it will last, but it's quick, easy, and cheap to apply. Frankly, I'm kind of amazed. The film is still curing on our black Gravity, but I can't wait to give it its first wash and apply the Ceramic Spray to it. It may actually make owning a black car easier.

I use the exact same turtle wax ceramic spray on my Gravity and it works great. It lasts about 2-3 months-ish. Just put my second coat of it on about a week a go.
 
I have not used Turtle stuff, but have had good experience with XPel Ceramic Boost Spray.
Have also been told Expel doesn't recommend using other brands.
Don't know if there's any legit reason, or just pure commercialism at play.

I read somewhere that if you put a second coat on 24 hours after the first it will last considerably longer. But I have not idea whether that's true. The manufacturer doesn't mention it.

I have a bottle of Xpel Ceramic Boost (but don't remember how I came by it). As the Ultimate Fusion supposedly has ceramic "infused" into I did not opt to have the film ceramic coated, and I wasn't sure if the Ceramic Boost was meant only for applied ceramic coatings.

The Xpel care products are mighty expensive. On our Zenith Red Air, which was PPF'd with Ultimate Fusion a couple of years ago, I've been using Optimum Opt-Clean "dry wash" product between visits to the automatic car wash, and the car still looks brand new. Not even any swirl marks (but there are some light scratches on the hood from dump truck convoys coming out of the nearby sand quarries). People often come up and ask about the car, and when I tell them it's four years old they have trouble believing it.
 
Does anyone on this thread have opinions regarding “just” applying a ceramic coat to a car?
