Yay Hardware upgrade CPU and memory

Just an FYI that if you upgrade software to 2.8.0 before the CCC v2 upgrade, the upgrade to CPU can’t be done.

My app showed the upgrade right after I dropped the car off. I wasn't going to do it, because I didn't know when they were going to start on the upgrade. Fortunately they did it right away. That had told me that they'd need the car for a few days, in which case I might have done it after the shop closed. Once they started working on it, it started showing a 1.x software version, which I assumed was because they were replacing the hardware, so I'm surprised that the current version is an issue. After the hardware upgrade was done, they started the 2.8 upgrade. It failed a couple of hours later. A few hours after that, the app showed me that the upgrade was available and it completed in about 50 minutes.

Aside from that, people should be aware that the upgrade wipes out a lot of information. Before you do it, check your navigation history to see if there are any addresses that you might need, because they will get wiped out. If they are in your phone's address book, then you'll be safe, but will have to remember to send them to the car the first time you use each one. For any that you haven't saved, you'll need to make note of it. Make sure that you have a remote control for your garage door or gate or anything else, because they will get removed too.

When I picked the car up, I had to reenter my credentials as the primary driver. I had to give the system my home and work address. I had to add Bluetooth for my phone. I also had to add it for the mobile key. The latter failed time and time again. Finally, I went to my list of paired devices on the phone, removed anything Lucid and then tried again. Then it worked. I had to add my PIN because it was gone. The Guest PIN may or may not have been there, so I set one anyway. It had to relearn my face. I readjusted the steering wheel to be lower than I had been using it, to the point that it obscures the title when Dream Drive is on, had it learn my face, and Dream Drive worked smoothly without complaining that it didn't recognize my face. I had already adjusted my seat, but did it with the levers on the side of the seat. I should have used the center screen and pressed "save to profile" because when I got home, it moved the seat back to let me out, and didn't return it the next time I got in. Easy entry needed to be reset, which I had done before that, and would have been better off holding off on. You will need to go through all the Dream Drive options one by one, because they may not be set the way you expected. You might want to go through all options, because I can't be sure whether I missed any. Android Auto decided on its own to have me do something to set things up, and that was straightforward. Then I had to add my garage door back to Homelink. Now I have to go to other locations that were tied to Homelink, and add them back over time. Plus, I need to explain to my wife that it needs to have a profile for her, learn her face, pair to her phone, etc. Then she'll say "what upgrade? Why?"

The car did save the trip odometers and WiFi from before.

It would have been nice if the service department had mentioned these things. Fortunately, I can still remember my address.

I mentioned this too. It’s a new process; they’ll get there.

Funny enough, they do mention it for replacements (as in, a broken CCC) but that info didn’t get put into the “upgrades” doc apparently lol.

Just got mine updated about 15 minutes ago. I was already on 2.8.0. The mobile service guy was well aware of the process, he retrofit new CCCv2 after taking out the original one. The CCCv2 is shipped with software version 1.1.x so he had to update it to 2.8.0 after installation. The rest of the software of the car also goes to older version and requires fresh OS update again to 2.8.0. He had no issues on my AGT 2022 model.

I had to reestablish my profile from scratch and go through every thing as if it was a fresh car. From start to finish, the mobile service took about 3+ hrs to finish the upgrade.
