Tesla operates around 32K stalls across the US with the V1’s and V2’s off limits due to them using a propriety communication protocol instead of CCS. They have roughly 22K V3 stalls and 2K V4 stalls which are compatible and is mighty close to the number Lucid is advertising.

I do not have documented proof but I am in central Florida with compatible chargers apparently in the minority. And this is Tesla-land! Those cars are everywhere… and before the posters that have been labeled “fan boys” by Lucid detractors pile on, I will reiterate that I am grateful for the capability but also disappointed.

Remember: Lucid can access only >23,500 but not the other >11,500.

@DeaneG You would be impressed. I have never seen a more ROBUST EV adapter. I have No doubt it can handle 500amps at 1000v, day and night. Future proofed. It must weigh twice of a level 2 adapter.

First rate packaging. Custom hd foam insert.

Knowing this forum, I am waiting for complaints that it's "too heavy."

It sounds just like the Lectron unit I received a few days ago. I’d be shocked if the Lucid adapter isn’t a rebranded Lectron.

Lectron could very well be simply a marketing company. Most companies selling china products in the US are just that. Could be that both Lectron and Lucid (and others) go to the same actual real manufacturer in China.

I have contracted for manufacture for electronic goods in China. Each buyer can specify the level of quality of each of the internal components, to meet a price point or other engineering requirements. Down to the tenth of a penny. The items may look the same from the outside, but are quite different.

As Lucid is a car manufacturer, I would expect it would specify higher grade components for safety and liability reasons. It has a lot at stake. Lectron just has desks and some ad men.

Thanks for the post! This illustrates why we should buy the Lucid branded adapter instead of saving a few bucks with the other products.

Charging with my Lectron adapter. No problem. I used the Tesla app to connect and pay. I have charging rate plans so I don't use the Lucid Charging Service. Once the battery was warmed up it was chargingat 46 kW. Started at 35. So yep, it'll do in a pinch.

That's a V4 post supplied by 450V V3 cabinets, commonly referred to as V3.5

Ford's Lectron adapter is also rated at 500A. The F150 will pull that much.
