Gravity test drives?

Was their keyfob working yet or did they still have to use the keycard? I drove it the first day they had it so fob wasn’t working yet but I wondered if they had got it working.
The fob was working on the showroom car, but I’m not sure about the one my wife drove. I was in the back and the SA was shotgun. Didn’t pay close attention!

Just did one yesterday in Southern California. This time I got to be a passenger, and checked the trays on the second row while the car was in motion. Works well and isn't wobbly at all, however if the driver takes a harder corner turn devices like phones or tablets will slide off the notched plastic area since the plastic is slick. They should put a rubber insert into that slot for more grip on the device, but you can of course do that with aftermarket parts. Or you can have a suction mount which will also work.

Some quick thoughts: The 2nd row lights have a dimmer functionality. Also the screen that controls AC was very responsive. The 2nd row windows can only go down roughly half of the window height. Lots of legroom and the third row is still massive, easily bigger than the R1S.

One interesting thing is that the SA seemed confused there wasn't carplay in the Gravity yet. She said she got to try it at the last auto show and it worked well. Maybe a beta build was shown there? Or perhaps she was confused. TBD
So…the instruction manual clearly states the trays should NOT be used when car is moving.

Now, I know that’s absurd and probably just there for the lawyers, but just thought I’d mention.

Should probably read “tray tables must be stowed and in the locked position for take off and landing” 😎

I did a walk-in test drive at Costa Mesa Studio in CA on a weekday.

Did a test drive at X Takeover at San Mateo CA today. Gravity drove beautifully and the sales folks were all very knowledgeable and friendly. Really glad to be sure that the car is well set up. The four wheel steering was awesome and the suspension seemed very well tuned. Can’t wait to get my G DE asap

I’d imagine they could cause great harm in the event of a car accident if left down.

I was also told that there is a test drive Gravity available starting August 1st at the Oakbrook, IL location outside of Chicago.

Finally got a Gravity test drive today at Houston Studio. Car was fully loaded except no tech package. Studio Gravity supposedly has the tech but it was being shown at Astros/Red Socks baseball game. Was able to test DDP on highway and it was a little finicky in engaging (sometimes it took 2 or 3 hits of the button to engage), even SA had issue. Once engaged, it was pretty good and similar to my current 2021 Mercedes. Auto lane change worked pretty good (better than my Mercedes.) Key fob appeared to be working fine.
I was a little worried about the full glass canopy but to be honest, hardly noticed it unless you looked up (tinting worked good.) Everything else on car worked great and loved the quiet, smooth but responsive ride. The wife who had been a little reluctant and did not share my previous enthusiasm, was impressed and very much liked the car but only wish was that we could get it in same color as a Zenith Red Air we saw parked in front of studio.
I was a little disappointed that it did not have HUD (even in it’s current limited capability) so I could reinforce my choice to stick with GGT w/ tech package.
Overall enjoyed the drive and now look forward even more to my eventual GGT arrival. Hopefully a majority of these software glitches will be resolved by then (key access being by far the most important.)

It is not like the Air, in that it literally requires two presses to engage Drive Assist. The first press engages Adaptive Cruise Control. Hitting the same button again engages Drive Assist.

It isn’t like the Air where you hold it to switch modes.

This is a setting, fwiw, but if you change it you cannot engage Adaptive Cruise Control at all; it will default to Drive Assist, always.

Thanks. I was just doing what SA told me to do with hitting the button. They have only had a demo unit here in Houston for a couple days.

No worries; it confused me at first too, because I was expecting it to work like the Air. But nothing seemed like it made sense until I read the manual and saw that.

I have a test drive in Tysons Corner, VA scheduled for this weekend. Looking fire to getting behind the wheel for a second time.
When did Tysons get a demo drive car? I did the demo like two months ago, but would be great to do a longer one…

The Lucid website now has the Gravity under the "Demo Drive" button for test drives starting next week, at least at the locations I looked at.
The Lucid app also keeps asking me in a pop-up if I want to schedule a demo drive. Uh... no? I can demo drive whenever I want?
