can someone give some insight about the end of lease process? things like will they contact me or do I need to make an appointment. I am in NE Fla, where would I need to bring the car for the return. any other insights would be helpful and appreciated.

Seems one thing is for sure, have your check book ready for the most minuscule of blemishes on the car 😐

I think you need to make the appointment but from what I’m gathering is, Lucid inspects, green lights the return and says everything is good and then when the car hits BOA’s hands they go over it with a fine tooth comb and charge you for the slightest spec of dust left on the car.

I would like to hear about more extensive details, does lucid do a pre return inspection or is it inspected upon return, if they do a pre return inspection will they come to you?
I ask because I am 300+ miles from a studio and about 130 miles from a service center and driving that distance for a pre inspection is ludicrous for me.

Where did you hear BOA goes through the car so strictly? I haven’t heard this on the forum yet. I’m due in October so am curious.

I have window tint installed. I also have the stealth model, air pure rwd. It looks great but the lower trim is a chip magnet! The material is crap quality and chips so easy. I have lots of chips there in the aluminum looking part. It’s just poor choice of material and isn’t even painted I don’t think.

Try searching the forum for "excess wear". There are several threads on the subject.

they will ding you for the tinted windows as per the lucid website, you could consider having it removed prior to your returning the car.

Here’s my experience today. I’m a 2-time Air owner and Gravity reservation holder and this $200 fight and how I’ve been treated has had an outsized impact on how I feel about the brand going forward.

Shortsighted, terrible brand damage, poor customer service…petty to the extreme.

Man this sucks. I’m worried what I’ll get hit with when I return mine. But $200 for a new rim seems low. If that’s the cost for replacement wheel, that’s not bad. I recently scuffed one of my wheels and I’m trying to see if I get it fixed or return as is. If it’s only $200, I will just leave it. Anyone else know what they were charged for sidewalk scraped rims?

I may be wrong, but I think $200 is a fair price to have a rim refinished. Whether that rim's condition exceeds normal wear and tear after three years is an entirely different issue IMO.

I actually completely agree with you. The price is fair for refinishing, at least here in SF Bay area. That's not the point, however, as this doesn't fit their very clear definition of "excess wear and tear" on wheels that are returned after a lease.

A wheel must be "cracked, bent, or broken" to be assessed an excess wear and tear fee. Their language. https://lucidmotors.com/knowledge/o...ease-end#lucid-excess-wear-and-use-guidelines. Does the photo of that blemish show the wheel is any of those three things?

That's their photo of the damage being assessed the fee, not mine.

Every time I see that photo it just irks me more that you had to pay for that. That is not excess wear and tear!

thank you.

I should update this to say that @marqie has reached out to me here on the forum, and I've given her my phone and email, but we haven't yet connected. Given that I already have upper management's official "closed" denial of my appeal, it will be interesting to hear what she says.
Will report back to those following the topic.

Anything other than perfect factory just rolled off the lot condition is apparently excess wear and tear for Lucid.

I think at this point the fact you’re being contacted to ask more questions etc. is definitely a step in the right direction.

I don’t expect changes to happen overnight but hopefully enough light is being shed where in future this issue no longer exists.
