Gravity Bugs / Issues

I don't know how easily I accept that it's the phone case's fault that wireless charging isn't working. If 2% of phone cases were causing a problem, maybe I could swallow that, but I am not sure I just accept that it's the case's fault, QED. I would hope that Lucid, for all their engineering might, can make a wireless charger that works with almost every case in their $100K+ luxury car. From the sounds of it, more people are having problems with this than just a few.

It's great that using a thinner case can help temporarily, but this is a really straightforward thing, isn't it?

I had a tough time getting my phone to start charging on the test driver I had; I should have paid more attention now that I am seeing these issues. My phone has only a bumper-style case, so there is no physical barrier between where the phone charges and the phone itself, though admittedly it is an aluminum case (maybe that creates some EM interference?) and it does hold the phone slightly above a contact surface. But I have never had a problem on any other vehicle and I use a wireless charger on my bedstand every night (and the kind that supports the whole phone, so there is still the air gap from the case).
Some cases don’t work well with some wireless chargers. This isn’t unique to Lucid; the same case of mine that didn’t work also was a pain on other wireless chargers.

It's frustrating how bad the situation is for wireless charging standards. I find it's not particularly reliable, and end up just plugging my phone into a USB-C cable so that I don't have to worry about it. USB standards are also a huge mess, but at least we're now at a point where you can be pretty confident that some amount of charging will occur with a cable, even if it's not charging your phone as fast as it could be.

Twraps wireless charger for the Lucid rocks! I’m fine with 3rd party affordable solutions like that.

Interesting, I'd never heard of that company before. I see they also sell screen protectors for the car, which is a product I'd never thought of before. I don't know that I worry about cracking the screen on the vehicle, but I am curious if it's actually better for maintaining clarity in the face of all the usual fingerprints and smudges that touch screens tend to have.

I have their matte screen protector for my Air, it’s awesome for reducing fingerprints and that wireless charger is perfect for the air as it also creates a functional shelf in the armrest area and unlike the Air’s wireless charger it works great.

I have the "music apps disappearing" and "spurious wireless charging warning" issues, but I found a new one on delivery -- climate control was in Centigrade, even when Fahrenheit was selected and appeared everywhere else! Switching units to C and back fixed this, but it was sure odd.

Mechanically everything seems fine. The trim near the powered window screens isn't entirely flush, and I'll mention that when we bring it in for the second key (which is on order).

Lots of phone cases won't work (or won't work well) for wireless charging, regardless of the charging pad. Thin TPU cases are usually OK tho (the most common type). Anything thicker, or metal (like aluminum), good luck. Mine has a built-in ring on the back and it won't work on any wireless charger.

my biggest issue so far is my 3rd row AC vents don't blow air
Thanks for noting this -- I just checked, and the same is the case for me!

Is anyone finding the 3rd row vents functional?

I'm also not convinced the passenger ventilated seat is working properly. I can hear the fan blowing but I don't feel much compared to the driver side.

Ran into a couple of software bugs today.
App tells me my window is open and need to confirm if I want to enable AC remotely. Window was not open.
Then on the last leg of my drive home from SoCal. after leaving Firebaugh Supercharger. I got an error indicating head light issue, contact service. The headlights remain on for the 2 hour drive home. can't turn it off, can't change fogs or parking, it just stayed on all the way. Got home, soft reboot. Seems to fixed it.
Also got back to car at Firebaugh Supercharger. Windshield wiper came on, check settings, it was set to ON, when I set it off for the past few days. Manully changing back to OFF fixed it. Wondering if this is related to the headlight issue, since both functions were coming from the left corner touch panel (no idea, just thinking out loud). I think I did about 4 or 5 soft reboots since taken delivery. :)

Would you mind listing all the ways to soft or hard reboot the vehicle, I feel like this should be page one for something with this much tech, thanks in advance!

I've definitely noticed settings "not sticking". I need to play with this more and investigate.

The steering wheel reboot is the same as the Air, and is the accepted way to reboot infotainment in the Gravity.

Brake, Mic, X.

The other reset is letting the car fall asleep and waking it up again.

Keep us updated on this. The two main problems the test drive Gravity I drove on Friday had was the keyfob not working, and with the Keycard it’s like Tesla where you have to hold it over the NFC logo on the B pillar and then place it in exactly the perfect spot in the center arm rest to drive. The SA said they were updating the software to fix the fob just you were told. The other issue was no music apps were searchable, neither Tidal nor Spotify nor radio.
Will definitely update as I know more. I was supposed to get a call today with an estimate for how long it would take, but I haven’t heard from them yet. Will call them tomorrow.
