Gravity [Grand Touring] Reservations Tracker

Spoke with my SA regarding my car, and they stated that the car was already built and being held at their factory in Arizona with unknown schedule for delivery. Anyone have any idea why they're holding completed cars?
With Airs, they sometimes wait until they have a carrier full to go to that region, so they don’t have to ship cars individually at a much greater cost. I don’t know for sure, but it’s certainly possible they’re doing that with Gravity.

I agree that the color renditions on the configurator are mediocre at best. They were much better on the Air configurator, where you could see the colors against different backdrops in different lighting conditions and could rotate the image to see the colors from all angles. The Gravity configurator makes the car look as it it's sitting in a warehouse with dirty windows at dusk. By doing this your car may look clean and have fun ride.

Which options should one avoid in order to avoid to not extend wait times? I have almost 6 months till lease expiration but it appears there’s quite a backlog for Lucid to fulfill for the vehicle.

It seems that Green GTs in Tahoe or Yosemite with all options except Tech package and no power pack are rolling off the line a lot more than any other colors or configs. 21/22 or 22/23 wheels seem to be available. In summary:

- All colors besides Green seem to be an issue at this point; there are some blacks out there as well but green is #1. So I think other colors are a constraint and an option to therefore avoid.
- The tech package (and its HUD) seem to be an issue. Avoid if quick delivery is desired.
- If you're OK with no HUD remember that the car doesn't have 110V power outlets without the tech package. I'm in that boat but it seems they also aren't making many with the power outlets. I've now been offered a few cars without the power pack. So power may also be a constraint and option to avoid.
- I haven't heard of a single Ojai interior being delivered.
- Otherwise I think they are mostly building fully optioned vehicles and there don't seem to be constraints on other options, so I'd say that the more optioned you are the more likely you'll be higher in the queue. That's a speculation but seems to line up with what's being delivered.
- I've heard of the 21/22 and 22/23 rims being delivered but haven't heard or seen anything about any delivered 20/21s. I'm guessing this is not so much a constraint as it is just that they're building the more expensive cars first.

I bet you could get a AG with all options except tech, and no power pack, in Tahoe, with 21/22 or 22/23 pretty quickly (end of summer) if you wanted.

I believe that earlier this year on one of the earnings calls they said that they'd be focused on producing fully optioned Gravities to start. So people selection cheaper variations are more likely to have to wait a bit.

Do we know if there's a hardware difference between Dream Drive 2 Premium and Pro? My order is for Premium and I have no idea whether that will affect delivery timing, or if Pro is just a software unlock.

On the Air, there is a hardware difference between DD Premium and DD Pro. I expect the same will be true for Gravity.

I've read all that, but it doesn't make it super clear what hardware differences exist. The haziness made me wonder if what we're really seeing will be software unlocks that enable future-capable ADAS hardware.

It sounds like there is an actual hardware difference on the Air, so that's likely what's happening for Gravity as well.

I believe that I remember a statement from someone with Lucid that there were definite hardware differences between Premium and Pro on the Gravity. I believe one of the key differences may be the lidar.

premium doesn’t even do main centering. You have to get the Pro version to even at a minimum get that. so it definitely comes with a lot more equipment, thus the attic cost. And a prepares the vehicle for future level 3 through a software update.

I’m leasing, so I’m trying not to pay now for future promises… but I still may want to change my order to go Pro.

I believe that on the Gravity Lucid actually includes lane centering (or what they refer to as “lane biasing”) in DD Premium. But who knows when they will deliver one that’s not fully specced for someone to test that out.

Those are different things, and Gravity includes both. Lane centering will steer for you and keep you in the center of the lane; this is what also exists in the Air today.

Lane biasing is when you are driving by a large truck or bus or something like that, it will steer slightly away from them in the lane to give you more space, much like most humans do. You can turn that on or off.

The Air includes manual lane biasing today.

In that case I find it extremely frustrating that Lucid doesn’t tell you anywhere which package actually provides lane centering. I’m guessing then that you don’t know whether it will be included in premium 2? Although I feel like lane biasing implies lane centering…

DD2 Premium does include Lane Departure Protection but I don't believe it steers for you, just some kind of a warning if you leave your lane. You have to option DD2 Pro to get any steering assistance and down the road, Level 3 driving would be possible since it includes all of the ADAS hardware for driving and parking.

I believe that the “Hands-free” portion is still a planned for future upgrade to DreamDrive 2 Pro. This is one of the key areas I am looking forward to you early Gravity owners to give input on differences/improvements with DreamDrive 2 Pro vs the original DreamDrive Pro.
