I know there will be some folks here looking to get some after market window tints on their gravity.

Just curious as to if anyone has thought about what they would get?

I have Prestige Spectra Photosync IRD tints on my Air, so I’m hoping to get similar for the Gravity.

Are you talking about tinting the roof? Or the side/rear windows? I've never had the urge to tint the side windows of my vehicle, but I have thought seriously about whether I'll want a roof tint, aimed at reducing how warm the cabin gets in the California summer. That said, I don't know anything about tint choices, and don't have a specific product in mind. What do you like about the Prestige Spectra Photosync IRD?

I have that on all my vehicles. For the Gravity I’ll get the 70% for the windshield and 50% for the front side windows. Haven’t decided on the roof or the hatch window, but if I do it will be 70%.

Will also get it PPF wrapped with Clear Guard Alpha from Prestige like I did on the Air:

Then you should apply tint to the rear windows.

PSA. All crossovers and SUV’s do not have tinted windows in the traditional sense. It’s actually called privacy glass. It’s just a coloring mixed in the glass, for…privacy. It provides little to no heat rejection or UV protection. To match, you apply 20 to the front, and 80 to all the rear windows and that’s a near identical match to front and rear.

I usually get it all around, but mainly specifically for what you described which is heat rejection. Spectra Photosync is often the best film out there for heat rejection. You can usually see a noticeable difference if you compare it side by side with other types of tint. It does cost a bit of a premium but personally I think it’s worth it depending on the climate you live. Being in SoCal, I know I find it very useful in my Air.

I never got ppf for my air, how would you rate the prestige film? I know rock chips would be bigger deal for me in the gravity with taking it on road trips.

It’s held up really well (36k miles on AZ roads). The car is always shiny with a wet look. There is only one tiny spec on the hood where the PPF was damaged and did not self heal. Also a small ⅛ inch dent on the fender which would have been a chip.

If you watch their promo videos you’ll see that the self healing does not require heat. Also, it does not get hard water spots and doesn’t need ceramic coating.

The installer said that it’s harder to install than XPEL, but was amazed at the shine.

The bugs are easy to remove on the bumper. I spray Sprayway window cleaner on and use a blue scrub sponge. Then wipe off the bugs.

I have the same tint on my current Aviator, 360 all around, was told not to touch the sun roof as they tend to crack. Almost 5 years in and it’s as good as day one. Quality stuff!! Didn’t enjoy paying 1k for it but the next owner is gonna get some use out of it too.
