Gravity Delivery Discussion

Look at all those minivans!
What I have seen from the delivery pictures and the ride height changes: Low - looks slammed, like a fast wagon/all-road and is awesome, High: Looks like a normal crossover/SUV a sleek and sport luxury kind like Audi Q7 or Cayenne. Middle: Wrong wheels or color combo is most minivanish....

I’m sorry but high is an ugly mode, maybe cause I see a lot of these lifted things in NYC

White Dreams - coming soon
Have not seen or heard of any of the members here getting black built, but of course this group is not representative of the whole. That's good to know. Hopefully my black DE can get in there soon.

There are numerous black Gravities in the drone shots @Adnillien recently posted of the factory parking lot. Many of them seemed destined for Saudi Arabia, but they all come out of the same paint shop, so black cars are clearly in production. Not clear, though, whether there are Dream Editions among them.

I saw that too and was hopeful. Not seeing anyone confirm builds with black tho. It's all good as i know they are doing what they can as best they can.

Yeah I have ordered a black GDE and been told it has a “pre-VIN” and is “on the production schedule” but has not started production yet.

I just texted my sales advisor a few min ago to check on the status of my Black Dream Edition. I'll keep everyone posted when I hear back.

Why would anyone order a black car for use in Saudi Arabia (with the heat and sun factor there.)

Interesting question. The most-registered car color in Florida is white. However, since we ordered a black Gravity down here I've started paying attention to the colors of other SUVs. A surprising number of them -- especially the gigantic ones -- are black. It's anecdotal, but my counts over the past week suggest black may be the most common color for SUVs in south Florida.

I got a message back that I have a build number but no VIN assigned yet. He guessed the build would be end of this month or early next month.

People just picking the color they like, in these days of air conditioning , it doesn’t really matter
Considering it can get to be 120 degrees in Saudi Arabia, I find it hard to believe "it doesn't really matter", but what do I know. Maybe they 're used to the high heat.

Car color just isn’t going to affect interior temperature. There’s way too much stuff between the body panels and the interior. Also these cars come with A/C.

I suspect most of the heat gain in the interior comes from above the belt line of the car through the glass canopy and the windows, and all the colors share those features.

I did some internet digging before ordering a black Gravity in south Florida. There actually have been quite a few studies that showed car color can add as much as 20º F to the interior of a car parked in direct sunlight. Apparently, a car's sheet metal conducts heat so efficiently into the space inside the panels that some of that heat does transfer to the cabin. However, most of the studies didn't say whether the cars tested had metal or glass roofs. My guess is the heat gain through the Lucid's massive glass canopy will overwhelm the heat gain through the sheet metal panels.

Our Air is Zenith Red with the glass canopy. Although that is a dark color, we have never found the A/C to be unable to keep the cabin cool, even on road trips in 108-110º temperatures or sitting in airport cell phones lots in temperatures nearing 100º. And reports are that the Gravity A/C system is completely re-engineered for significantly more output.

It's nice to hear that the gravity AC system is re-engineered for more output. I'm wondering if the AC systems in the 2025 Airs have the same system as the new Gravity if yes, that would be great. If not, hopefully they will be in the 2026 model..A lot of people on this board are satisfied with the current A/C system in their Air. Others like myself would like to see an improvement, as I find you only get decent airflow on a hot day when the volume is set at high, and then it is a very noisy with the fan speed. The Air(IMO) needs to be able to have a higher volume of air at a lower fan speed.
