I suspect the main advantages from the smaller battery pack will come from reduced cost and reduced weight.
The Touring battery pack will probably lose the top tier of modules that sit under the front seat cushions of the Grand Touring, but the Gravity seats are high enough that, even with the large battery pack, they have plenty of "leg drop". Lowering the floor by removing modules, as is done with the small-pack Airs, would actually produce an unnatural seating position in the Gravity.
I also don't know how it could affect cargo space, as the pack sits between the front and rear axles. The storage wells in the frunk and behind the third-row seats are already as deep as the body and drivetrain configurations allow.
