Hello

I am getting the Lucid Charger installed in my Garage. The electrician said:
a) He will add a 100Amp breaker. Whole house Panel supports 200A.
b) He will run a #2 wire (of 35 feet) from the panel to a point in the Garage to install the charging station. This wire will run inside the drywall and not be in any external pipes.
c) He will adjust the dip switches on the Charger to select 80A and mount charging station on the Garage wall.

Once he installs it, I can start using the Charging cable that came with the Charger into it and charge daily.

Is there any thing else to be done in the installation? Are there any precautions I need to take?

You didn’t mention if the #2 wire is copper or aluminum. Depending on how detail oriented you are, you might want to get clarification. Copper is a better conductor.

Also, the LCHCS is only rated for copper wire, not aluminum.
Wifi setup can be tricky. Follow the instructions carefully. If the unit starts flashing orange, that's a firmware update in progress; don't turn power off.

Those who had installed LCHCS, is there any instructions page to know the list of settings available that we can change in LCHCS?

You cant set the charging times? whats the use of connecting to wifi then is it just to have the charger software up to date?

Correct on both counts, for now. You set the charging time in the car using its "scheduled charging" feature.

You can also get some stats from the web interface for the charger, but it’s pretty limited today.

Thank you. I will ask the Copper.

Is it possible to set charging time for non-Lucid EVs?
AFAIK all EVs have a charge scheduling feature built in. Most EV home charging stations do as well, and it's up to you to decide which scheduler to use. But Lucid's home charging station does not have this feature.

Yep, I can set the schedule on the ChargePoint, which is car-non specific. In the process of installing Lucid Charger, and wish to do the same.

It's not currently possible. No idea if it will be in the future.

My LHC went in to replace an aging Clipper Creek I’ve had since 2015. Had to change the dip switches to match my existing 40A wiring. Charges well at 7 kWh / 30 mi/Hr but having lots of issues connecting the unit to WiFi. I followed the directions to the letter but so far have only been able to see the configuration web page once. All other times it just s spins and never connects. Confirmed with customer service that there is an issue with WiFi but they said there are no essential functionality associated with that at the moment.

Just firmware updates are associated with wifi. The EVSE doesn’t have a cellular connection, so in order for it to pull down any updates it would need net.

That said, you could also hook it up wired via Ethernet, which is also an option.

One thing that can be a bit difficult: during setup and after, having your phone on the right wifi network at the right time, with the appropriate IP address, to talk to the unit. During setup you can find the LCHCS on it's own SSID wifi at 192.168.5.1. After you've entered your home wifi credentials into the LCHCS, set it to use DHCP, and given it time to reboot, you should be able to change your phone back to your own wifi and find the LCHCS at whatever IP address your router gave it.

Or connect the LCHCS by Ethernet cable instead at 192.168.1.10 (any conflicts with your home network?), set the LCHCS to use DHCP, and let it reboot. Then find it at the new IP address your router gave it.

In any event, if your LCHCS already has Network FW version 01.01.25 and Safety FW version 02.14.51, it doesn't need an internet connection.
