Home charger recommendation?

You can use the app to lock other people out from using the charger. If you are looking to PHYSICALLY secure the unit from being stolen, the you are correct, the Wallbox unit can't be locked.
Yep, it’s the physical security I’m after :)

Is your placement outdoors or accessible to strangers? Just curious, since mine is in my garage.

Outdoors, with the car parked in my driveway. No sense in making it easy for someone to rip it off :)

Does it lock up the cable as well?

At this point I believe most thieves are interested in gasoline and catalytic converters….

Regarding Bi-Directional power setups. The required transfer switch might be the least of your problems. Your power company has a lot to say about the installation. They don’t want power accidentally going back out onto the grid and killing their workmen. I installed PowerWalls in Arizona. APS is my power company. Was required to add a separate meter for the battery and 4 very large shutoff boxes. Two with fuses and two with breakers. The city required APS to sign off on the design before they would approve it. Please check with your power company before getting all excited about bi-directional power.

Yes they do!

Wow. 4 shutoff boxes and you even had to do a separate meter? That seems excessive! Just a shutoff switch between the battery and the grid should be sufficient to protect their workers, but each company has their own requirements. I do agree that the bidirectional installation, permits and sign offs will be a big hassle.

Like I stated in a separate thread, I doubt seriously we will see this bidirectional home charger any time soon -- or late.

If any Lucid folks are reading this thread, adding a simple disclaimer sentence on your website like - "Vehicle-to-home functionality depends on local rules and regulations. Additional hardware and installation work required to make V2H work." This one sentence can temper people's expectations, most of whom have no idea of how this even works.

Yeah. I concur. Back on 2017 BMW announced that it was going to use an inductive floor mat to charge its PHEVs. Four years later...nada. One will probably want to replace the car before bidirectional feature is enabled in most locations.

I just upgraded to a WallBox 48A unit from an older JuiceBox 32A today. Availability from Amazon with just a few days for shipping.

I think the majority of us are waiting for V2H and not V2G. V2H should be pretty straightforward as long as they view the Lucid as just another battery pack.

I have a Tesla and the Tesla Fast Wall Charging Station. Are we able to use an adapter to use that to power the Lucid Air?

Mini Tesla Tap 80amp should work well. Dream owners have reported successful use of this adapter with their Lucid and Tesla wall charger.

I guess I'm a little confused. My Porsche Panamera E-Hybrid came with a charger that worked just fine with my Nema 14-50 outlet. The Porsche App also worked fine. The Lucid comes with a similar charger included and I will eventually purchase the bi-directional Lucid Home charger when it becomes available but will just use the included charger in the interim. Why are people considering buying separate units? Am I missing something?
Lucid can not start at a specified time if you want/need to start charging after midnight for example. This functionality is built into many of these other options. Lucid has indicated it will be added at some point.

I'm hoping to take delivery in the next few weeks. I've been advised by Lucid not to use the Tesla Tap adapter as it is not UL rated (guessing it might invalidate a warranty). Any merit to that? I would prefer not to incur additional costs of purchasing another home charger prior to the Lucid charger becoming available. Thank you.

Just use the mobile charger included with the car until the home charger is available
