I was curious those that either have stock Audio system or upgraded how bangin is it ? Do you like the audio system? Is it audiophile level? Would you recommend a gut? I hated Audio system in my 2016 model S that I gutted it all and replaced with 10 In h jl audio sub and new fronts. Was like a 4000$ upgrade but I love banging sound system with good base and nice sound. What would you suggest? I am specking out my air pure.

I do not imagine you’ll want to pay a shop to rip this car apart and stick in an aftermarket sound system. It is the only car in the world with Dolby Atmos…

Having said that, it sounds pretty great, but I’m apparently not an audiophile because I went back and forth playing the same song (“Bad Girl” by Billie Eilish) between Tidal HiFi and Spotify. I really could not hear much of a difference, although on Tidal it was showing “Dolby Atmos.” The system sounded great on both. It gets better if you turn it up loud.

It only displays the Dolby, but I don't think that track is Dolby. Was the Dolby light grey or white? It's only Dolby when the Dolby logo is lit up and white vs grey.

On Tidal select for Dolby to hear truly Dolby activated tracks. Kind of lame, will probably cancel Tidal until either Lucid or Tidal fix the issue of not being able to select Master tracks as default

Finally spent the time to look for the Dolby Atmos contents in Tidal (had to sign up for their high quality HiFi Plus plan, there is a 30 days free trial). Tidal has some playlists in Atmos quality, not every song is offered. I can definitely hear the difference vs. non-Atmos tracks, the sound was immersive, different chord from different corner of the cabin. Loved it, I ended up parked on the driveway and enjoyed 30 mins of music.

Yeah Tidal doesn't have the extensive number of Dolby Atmos selections that Apple Music has and Apple Music is half the price (actually included "free" in my Verizon plan). But unfortunately until we get CarPlay or the ability to hook up the phone via usb we won't be able to appreciate it. I already have downloaded over 1300 Dolby Atmos songs into a custom playlist on Apple Music. NOW WE JUST NEED LUCID TO GIVE US THE PROMISED APPLE CARPLAY!!

Hmmm. I have not yet found a Tidal track where the "Dolby Atmos" lights up white. It's always gray. I do have the trial HiFi membership. Frankly, the Tidal interface is awful, at least compared to Spotify. I wonder why they don't have an App for Amazon Music since that's what the car plays if you just use Alexa to play something.

You have to specifically search for Dolby in Tidal

Do a search for Dolby Atmos and you'll find a few playlists for it.

I believe you need the HIFI "Plus" plan to get the Atmos. and I totally agree with you, i don't like Tidal's UI. I prefer Spotify. I will give this free trial a try and maybe it will grow on me.

After I made the adjustments recommended by Copper I have to say the system sounds very good. Tidal does light up the Dolby Atmos symbol when it is playing a Dolby Atmos track. The only thing I've noticed is when the Dolby Atmos light is lit I can't control the Balance adjustment; it is greyed out. However there is sound coming from the rear speakers but the front speakers seem dominant. Then when playing a recording that isn't Dolby Atmos, the balance works fine. Still sounds very good, but the Dolby Atmos does sound better. Bass is good on both.

Sounds like the Dolby forces a specific setup to get the Dolby experience...which is actually pretty nifty

Are you seeing the same reaction? Balance greyed out when Dolby Atmos is lit up white?

I wish I could test this but I canceled my Tidal until they have better support for Dolby in the car

I am up here at the Millbrae Center getting a minor issue fixed. While here I showed them the Tidal issue with the Balance adjustment greyed out on Dolby Atmos recordings. They are opening a ticket for me on this issue and hopefully will have more info soon.

I have to assume its greyed about on purpose... Dolby wants control of the balance to do its thing

You may be correct. Are you using Tidal on your Dream Edition? If so do you see the same thing with the Balance greyed out for Dolby Atmos recordings?
