Gravity Launch

The staff at the West Palm Beach Studio two weeks ago told me it would be Q4 of this year or even Q1 of next. I share your impatience, but they're in road testing now, and I want them to get this right.
Hopefully Q4, that would be overall better for the company as YTD results are important.

Based on previous scheduling, I believe that the Gravity will be revealed between August 14-16, 1 week after the August 7th Q2 earnings call. Fingers crossed, Lucid will announce this event in the next few weeks, before the earnings call. And, it might also feature Apple CarPlay 2.0 (aka, UX 3.0). The Gravity reveal is a very very big deal for Lucid. They have to get it right, or else, that's-all-she-wrote for Lucid. Hence why they keep postponing.

I had been thinking they'd unveil Gravity at the Quail Motorsports Gathering during Monterey Car Week like they did the Sapphire last year. However, that recent Motor Trend article about the Sapphire mentioned that the full Sapphire specs would be revealed at Car Week. That makes me think the Gravity reveal is delayed for a while.

As for the looks, I absolutely LOVED the previous pictures of the gravity... but the rear end is a tragic mess.

The light bar is too thin(although it could work with wrap removal as a modern look, we will have to wait for that), the trunk line near the bottom corners is horrific, and the reflector below that either fell off(which i seriously hope it didnt) or it is sloped for no reason.
I still absolutely love the side/front profile as well as the surfacing of the rear, but they need to work on the graphic features as well as the small details.

The light bar is probably the same as the Air, smart move. That reflector looks like tape and not the actual reflector.

From this, I learnt a lot:

Glass cockpit is definitely different. The slope and angle starts much sooner after the steering wheel. Also, can we note how the steering wheel is positioned for a high seating position, which should give Range Rover presence?
Rear seats seem to be stylized in the same manner.
More instances of gravity's minivan influenced is found in the windows, as there is a "4th" window near the mirror similar to many minivans these days. This should give good visibility.

As a last point, I pointed out the frameless windows earlier with my analysis in this thread. I was given that there would be no impact on structural rigidity as pillars could be thickened, which does make sense now. However, in this picture the a pillar actually seems relatively thin for most modern cars. Perhaps lucid has done some material magic to make it stiff?

Actually, that is the exact reason I pointed it out. It doesnt seem to be the same as the air..

Airs lightbar above

In the air, it is thick in the middle and thins out towards the end. Then, there is a silverish element below it.
All emotion is lost in the gravity, as the element is gone and the bar is a straight line. As for the actual graphics of the headlights, it is too early to comment on that as both cars were moving in the picture. However, right now it seems to be very static.

All it needed was a visual refresh and I feel the ford flex would have been one of the greatest vehicles of all time.
So long as you are not driving the twisties. I had one (a rental) going from Reno to North Lake Tahoe and it was not fun driving on those roads with that monster truck.

Really? I would've imagined the opposite, especially with the "wagon" cred it has..

No need to worry. The Gravity rear light bar has the same contour as the Air:

They do seem to be slightly different.. in this picture it doesnt extend to the very end of the trunk line as it did in the video. I do persume that it could just be a matter of the angle of the picture.

Also, the OP posted some more images:

Managed to grab this image of the interior:

In addition, he posted a video which is in the replies of the twitter above. The video looks extremely distorted, or atleast I hope it is. The first picture seems to show a captains chair layout, and strangely enough it seems as if the gauge cluster to main display slope is much more pronounced in the gravity(shown in both pictures), instead of being the gradual curve that the air has.

Edit:This new display curve is also shown in this Lucid suppllied picture:

I think they have to keep with the theme of business up front, party in the back. So dark front seats, alternate color in the back, same as the Air.

But the third row being a totally different color would be funny.
