We are taking our first road trip in the Lucid Air this weekend from Las Vegas to San Diego. Excited to see how it performs. So far, I am loving this car! Going to record the trip to see how we do on range. Don’t plan to drive 70 the whole way so I’m expecting to get around 400 miles in my DE P.

Travis, you may have already posted this but how has your experience been so far with your Lucid? How about screen issues, or using your cell phone as key, boot up times, etc.

My experience has been good so far. It hasn't been without issues but nothing major. Software works well for the most part. I haven't had any screen issues. I use my phone as a key 100% of the time. It unlocks most of the time on approach but there is a bug where it won't unlock again if the car re-locks on timeout so I have to unlock it with the app. boot up times haven't been a problem. Once in a while it will boot from a cold start and that takes about 15 seconds. Our main gripe is the delay in seat, mirror, and steering wheel position when changing profiles. My partner and I take turns driving it and it doesn't always guess the correct profile and when you change profiles manually, it takes 20 seconds just for it to change.

You’re gonna love the road trip. The profile switching was my biggest gripe as well on mine, plus not being able to filter for EA chargers in the car nav.

I've had VERY mild success with saying "Alexa, find me the nearest electrify america charging station"

Yea hopefully they will improve it soon. I was told they are working on a major update to address UI lag and tons of bugs as well as new features.

I hope they do a medium-ish overhaul of the UI. The pilot panel has some buttons that should be changed to something more useful. The themes button is pointless, as well as the openings tab imho.

Yea and when you change a preference like seat position, it should popup and ask you to save instead of having to go to the seats page. I got all kinds of suggestions

If you plan to change seat position, go into the seat adjustment screen and change it there and then save it to your profile. Learned that one the annoying way, but once you do that it's good!

Also, while the car looks nice on the pilot panel, and I like how they change the background based on driving mode...I feel like that big spot could be used for something more useful?

Maybe use the top 2/3rds of the screen when an app is open like nav, or music. and the ability to have 2 open at a time. nav up top, music in the pilot panel etc

Hopefully you have a better trip out of Vegas than what I experienced on Monday. The wind was horrendous and wind and EV’s don’t mix well at all.

I used to do the trip in my BMW i3 with 64 miles of range and a 1 gallon range extender. Anything is better than that lol

Looking forward to the update to this thread
Well here it is! Drive to San Diego went great. We ended up leaving at 4am and it was way colder than I expected, 30-40, which hurt the range a lot! Started getting warmer when the sun came up.

Rated range: 451
Expected range: 433

Leg 1: 2.2 mi/kWh, ~260 range
Charge: max 290 kW
Leg 2: 3.3 mi/kWh, ~390 range
Average: 2.5 mi/kWh @ 80mph & 40 degrees

Driving in San Diego has been much better range. Temperature around 70 degrees and averaging high 3 to low 4 mi/kWh, often well above EPA rated range. As expected, driving in freezing temps at high speed destroyed the range but still had more range than my Model Y so can’t complain too much.

On the contrary, what happens to range while driving in really hot temps?
