Well...to be fair, gas cars pay for upkeep to the roads through the gas tax. EVs don't use gas so the charge as I understand it is an EV alternative to the state gas tax. That is the way it works in Arizona. Yes...our legislature is anti green and I am pro green BUT I don't mind paying an extra registration fee every year...it does seem fair to me.Wisconsin is anti EV. There is an annual charge of $175 for EV’s in addition to the normal registration fee.
California has been doing this for the last few years. I think this is reasonable to offset not paying the gasoline tax.Wisconsin is anti EV. There is an annual charge of $175 for EV’s in addition to the normal registration fee.
To put this into perspective, California gas tax is far higher than Wisconsin gas tax.California has been doing this for the last few years. I think this is reasonable to offset not paying the gasoline tax.
NJ has amazing incentives, This program offers up to $4,000 for the purchase or lease of new, eligible electric vehicles (EVs) and $250 for purchasing an eligible EV charger. The program also offers a rebate of $25 per mile of all-electric range. PSEG (NJ) electric company also gives great rebates on cost related to installation of electric charger at residence.I get that it’s fair. But many states go the other way and offer economic incentives for EV’s and green initiatives like Solar.
