Here’s the before and after pics of the Alcantara covering on the HUD frame on a very sunny day. The second pic is from the driver’s position. The Alcantara doesn’t completely eliminate the reflection, but does significantly reduce it. The only time the frame completely disappears is at night. I have not yet driven the car to truly test it.

That looks like it's the inner edge of the front most part of the HUD frame where they added the felt material on mine. I don't get that particular reflection at all.

I’ve got that inner edge covered with Alcantara material.

Did you have the blue blub and now don’t after adding the alcantara?

Looking at the baseline pic, it appears that the right side of the picture with the dash vent is much more noticeable in this pic vs the ones after adding the alcantara.

I swear GM and Lucid use similar plastics on the dash because the Chevy Equinox EV has the same vent reflection problem.

Lucid just upped the ante because they used it on the HUD frame too.

I only see this if I slouch low in the seat. The lower in seat I slouch, the larger the reflection is. This is only noticeable (for me) if I am low enough to barely see over the top of the dash screen. I am 5” 10” and set my seat height to about 1/3 up from lowest setting and have never seen this except when I have leaned over to get make adjustments on far right of pilot screen or reaching for something in passenger seat (thus causing me to dip my head lower.)

It’s not coming from the HUD housing and I doubt you can get rid of it. I had to position my seat slightly higher to get rid of the blue reflection. I can see it being a problem for those who can’t find a good seating position to eliminate the blob.

I've got issues with two types of reflections.

Does anyone have the first one? (bottom left of the HUD) It's a white reflection.
The funny thing is I just got my car back from service and noticed it, before that it was either not there or I hadn't noticed it.

I have a tiny corner reflection similar to your top photo here, yes. Mine has the ‘felt’ strips inside part of the housing. 12/25 build.

The felt, I had when I took delivery. They should have just put the felt on all four sides.

Yeah my Land Rover HUD has no reflection issues like this either, display or plastic frame. It is disappointing, especially at this price point.

The HUD content I have no problem with and it will likely get better.

Anyone have the HUD issue where the entire screen gets very bright, to the point you can see the whole rectangular display as a huge pink area around the normal white numbers/speed sign? I’ve only noticed it a few times and on the latest software (3.4.1). I tried to video it but is happens pretty fast and I was driving so did not capture. It was as if someone was playing with the brightness setting but going higher than should be allowed.

Can anyone tell me if they have a small light strip between the HUD area and the front of the driver’s side door? Seems like there should be one there but isn’t.

I get this sometimes. The auto brightness brightness seems a little flaky.

Can anyone tell me if they have a small light strip between the HUD area and the front of the driver’s side door? Seems like there should be one there but isn’t.

I noticed the missing light strip on pickup and it was added to my due-bill. I assumed it was a defect. I too would like to hear from anyone who has a working light in that front-left dash area behind the clear view cockpit display.

is that the location you're talking about? I checked mine today and the light strip is not there....Does mobile service fix that or have to send it to a full blown service appt?

There is not. There's is one on the passenger side, but magically/stupidly goes dark when you put the car in Drive.

I believe it's not present/ goes dark to avoid a distracting reflection on the windshield (at night)

It should be an option to have it on or off when driving
