Wind Noise

I don't have it handy but essentially my two rear window trim pieces were not fitting flush with the roof trim. The frames come as one piece and they replaced the entire rear window frames and now they fit much better, flush to the rest of the trim. I think that was what was causing the slight wind noise. If you request that, they will know because my mobile tech said he's been doing many of these.

Mobile service yesterday - wind noise fixed! Mine was only an issue at highway speeds. The fix involved the installation of retention clips (2per) for the trim pieces at the top of each door. There was nothing done with the rubber seals or the roof rack insert cover pieces.
 
I have one of the early model Airs so each body panel is unique = the gaps are huge and un-alignable. The rear door and trunk lid seem to be from different models salvaged from a junk yard.
I suppose I could put tape on the seams like glider pilots

...but the car is so awesome I just don't care. You just go fast enough to move the turbulence to a different area. Speed cures.

could you please describe where exactly at the top of the door these clips were installed? I would also appreciate if you can share a picture. I have exactly the same problem with my Touring at highway speeds

Open the door (any door, my whistle was passenger front), view the plastic trim piece that runs across the top, notice the bottom of which is where the window glass seals into when closed…that piece… it apparently can have extra retainer clips added and mine did not have them. I was not present when the mobile service job was performed. The service rep did talk something about my VIN# which I think somehow correlated with the clips being added, but who knows? I didn’t get many more details, we didn’t chat long, busy-busy. I test drove it when he was done and it definitely stopped the whistle. My whistle was repeatable and would start around at around 65/70, then it would actually subside at higher speeds. But the clips definitely have made a difference.

Unfortunately, now that it’s been a few days, I have to report that the whistle is not completely 100% gone. It is very much improved, it is less constant and it’s a softer sound to it when it does come. Not even sure when I will ask for another checkup on it at this point. I would recommend the service if you have this whistle.

Still loving the car and being a unicorn in the northern PA.
