Luciar Air Touring
I need to leave my car open, at the house or at my hangar. Windows down, doors open. Why can't you do such a basic task that all other cars do.
Orientation had the car On when I took delivery. After 2 miles when I got home, my first call to support was to discover your can't turn in off.
I would have not taken delivery should I have known....
Hopefully this will be addressed in a future update.
18th month to go..

I've wondered this too.

What exactly do you mean by "turn off"? You can turn off passive locking, so that the car will not lock unless you explicitly lock it.

I’m not exactly sure what you’re asking for. You can leave the windows down. You can turn off passive locking so the car won’t lock while you walk away.

Alternatively, you can turn on “climate keep” and it will keep the car in the exact state you want for hours.

What would “turning the car off” mean, in this context?

I’m very glad the car doesn’t have an on/off button. I cannot tell you the number of times I forget to turn off my wife’s Ioniq 5, and I cannot count the number of times she forgets lol. I built a Home Assistant automation *specifically* to turn the car off when she forgets lol.

I just want to leave the car unlocked in the garage, as I use the fob but only carry it when I'm about to drive the car. Is this possible now?

Yup. Turn off passive lock in settings.

It’s not geofenced, so you’ll have to manually lock it with the fob (or pushing in the door handle) whenever you want to lock it.

I don’t think I’ve ever had any car (ICE or EV) that needed an option of turning off to leave the doors open. I’ve never considered it.

I’ve aired cars out with windows open and the Lucid can do that, locked or unlocked, with the windows open while it sleeps.

If I understand you correctly, you want the option to leave the doors open, walk away and the car sleeps?

You always want what you don't have... our EV9 has a horrible start/stop button you need to press EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. you want to turn off or on the car.

Its just... ugh. I would much rather be able to press the brake and start the car, that is far more convenient.

Another thing is if you leave the doors physically open (not the lock but the actual doors) the car will eventually go to sleep after it sounds an annoying beep inside the car and displays the notification on the screen.

I just tried disabling "Passive Lock" on software version 2.5. I drove into the garage and the A/C is running. Get out of the car. Go into the house (with the fob and phone very far away). Five minutes later go back to the garage and Lucid is unlocked, however the A/C is still running. Is that the intended behaviour?

I would expect walking away would "put it to sleep" however just not lock the doors.

Was it cooling the battery? Or was the GUI on?

Everything was still on, screens, radio. Good point about cooling the battery though, but generally when I come home if that's the case the fans are slower and that only lasts a minute. I'm going to try this a few more times to see if this behaviour is consistent.

I just use passive unlock disabled makes life much easier I think only downside is you have to make a habit of locking your car as you leave it otherwise it’s unlocked and at times lights ac can run until car turns itself off which I think happens around 15 min idle

Wait 10 min instead

Yes I think you just need to wait a little longer. I believe that locking triggers the system to power down everything. So if you turn off the passive locking mechanism, then you just have to wait until the power times out. I'm not exactly sure how long that takes. But I sit in my car and work quite often. And I will frequently get the countdown on the pilot panel telling me that the car is going to sleep unless I click the I'm still here but. So I imagine it's going to do that if the passive locking is turned off. And if you're concerned about the additional energy usage, you can just use a different method to lock it when you get out if you choose to.

I think someone here said that you can leave your fob in the car and push the door handle to lock it when you get out. But then when you come back to the car all you have to do is push the door handle again and it will open. So it will appear that it is locked to any casual Observer but it really isn't

I've tried two more times, on two different Lucids, and this is what I found out:
  1. Disable Passive Lock in the Settings menu
  2. Walk away from the car (hide the fob and phone)
  3. For about the next 10 minutes
    1. The coolant pump continues to run (A/C too if you left it on)
    2. The Screens are still on
    3. The Headlights are on
  4. After those 10 minutes
    1. The car powers down with door handles presented (and lights in them are on)
  5. Some 5 to 10 minutes later
    1. The car was locked; door handles were in
Update: when I went to the garage with NO fob and NO phone, pushing in the door handles a few times unlocked the car

Maybe the OP is asking if the car can be turned off entirely, including the battery cooling. This would prevent the loss of any battery power. The only device running in the car would be the clock and the wireless communication. Battery cooling would not be running at all. Losses would be almost non-existent like in an ICE vehicle.
