When I try to design either the Gravity or the Air in the "designer" on the website, the experience is pretty poor:
  1. It takes too long to switch from one view to another. Sometimes it just refuses to load the image when you click on the thumbnail.
  2. The ability to "spin the car" to see all views of the outside of the car is rarely available; especially rarely after switching to a different color, tire, or other option (though Chrome seems to be the best at showing this, but only when the designer initially loads, for the first color).
I didn't even know the designer had this feature until last week, when I accidentally did it on my phone (and then could not get it to do it again (probably after switching colors)).
  3. This one is on me, but for awhile I didn't realize you could click the "carrot" symbol at the top of each of the 'Exterior' and 'Interior' thumbnails and display other views from the exterior or interior. I actually placed my order before I figured this out. I felt very dumb afterwards.
I couldn't find any previous mention of this. Please forgive me if this is oft-discussed.

Maybe I'm using the wrong browser (Firefox; also tried Edge; also tried Chrome, which seems to act the best, but still not great).

Perhaps I'm being picky, but this seems like it should be better for folks trying to picture what their car will look like (though given the choice of this being better, and the car software being better, obviously the car software takes priority...)

I had/have similar issues. Chrome on Win 11.
Sometimes it became confusing because I'd select an option, and the image didn't change to reflect it. Once in a while I couldn't tell which image variant showed the option I'd chosen.

Yeah, I've been annoyed by the limited functionality of the configurator since day 1. You are correct that you can only rotate the vehicle after loading it up and doing nothing more than changing the exterior color. Once you change any other option (including the wheels), it stays permanently fixed. They need to go back to the original Air configurator from back in the day that allowed full 360 3D manipulation inside and out!

This is exactly what I was picturing it should be able to do. Especially given that they have those 3D models and wouldn't have to build them.

Thanks for the replies, glad to know I'm not the only one annoyed by it.
