dcbel has a similar product that is ready for waitlist customers - works with Volvo's EX90 for now. These DC-coupled bidirectional EVSEs are quite large and expensive compared to Lucid's AC-coupled approach, but are likely to work with nearly all EVs. A subset of EVs, including the Air, Gravity, and I believe newly-introduced Volvos and Polestar cars, will also be compatible with AC-coupled EVSEs.
 
Hey Lucid, where is V2H? It seems like another year has passed, and another promise has been broken. I hope you deliver things on time at least in 2026, which is five years of missed deliveries on every promise.

Well we are now under a power outage since 8:30 this morning. I was assurred by Zak and then online by our interim CEO that V2H would be here before year end. To be fair there is still a few days left for that promise to be kept.

Was that Lucid's Zak or Zak the line cook at Kirk's Steakburger?

Well that interim CEO also publicly stated that hands-free for Gravity would be coming by year end also. One thing that is consistent with Lucid is you simply can’t believe a word they say when it comes to timelines.

Yes, wish we see a different Lucid next year. As far as i remember Lucid missed every single word except Gravity deliveries in 2024 which is also a marketing gimmick.

an SC Rep told me V2H would be rolling out "very very soon" in 2023...

But seriously, don't promise things without a timeline, and don't buy on promises.

I see that a few of you laughed at my above post. Well, I'll have you know that many people consider Zak the line cook at Kirk's Steakburgers to be the very soul of credibility. Somebody needs to ask him about V2H. If he says soon, it'll be soon.

Yep 6 months until another hurricane season down here in New Orleans hoping soon means by then! Didn't buy a generator three years ago with my lucid being my back up plan because of course it was coming soon....
 
Though we have a reservation for one, we May decide in the spring to not pull the trigger on our Gravity if there’s no news on the V2H front. There are other options available that would involve a less expensive vehicle to boot.
 
Lucid’s soon means a year or a decade or never 🙂
Say too much delivery no such.

A hurricane can take down your power for a week or more. V2H will not power your house for that long unless you shut down HVAC and keep usage limited. I live in Houston and installed a large Generac unit a couple years ago. In 2024 we had both Hurricane Beryl and a Derecho (super high speed straight line winds) that each took down power for about a week. Generator kept house with dual 4 tons ACs, and all other power going without an issue and did not have to keep car tethered to house all the time. I see V2H as a good backup for short couple hour to day at max outages.

Another argument for a generator is if we were to have another massive freeze grid shutdown like we had in 2021 that not only took down individual neighborhoods but also whole areas including all gas’s stations, I could use generator to power my home EV charger.
 
We have hurricanes visit from time to time. I have a small generator. I don't want to install a large generator because we don't need them much (I actually needed it more in New England than down here). V2H would be the perfect compliment to my current generator.

FWIW, I think V2H would take care of most of our needs during an extended power outage.
