This would make sense. Doubt they would want to hold off on deliveries for new vehicles for so long after touting at the end of last year about how how they are finally ramped up and ready to meet demand.

Honestly, secretly wishing this means they announce the Gravity X as a trim for the 2027 year. Along with the upcoming midzise (rumored to have a trim based off the X concept), that would also be a good time to reveal the Gravity X trim (or perhaps...maybe even Gravity Sapphire?). I can't imagine holding off production for a 2027 Model with virtually no changes besides a seat fix.

I'm looking forward to the investor day to get more details. The interim CEO has been clear about protecting margins, so continuing producing vehicles with known hardware defects that will require additional service costs on top doesn't make much business sense.

It's also a good time to re-tool a bit not just for the Earth, but for the Gravity-X :)

I for one will wait for the 2027 Model with all the updates. Lucid needs happy customers and good reviews will be necessary to help pave the way for the midsize. I do think they're protecting the future LT owners from having a bad experience if they launch prematurely.

I wonder if part or all of this is in 3.4.4.
 
From a marketing perspective, a new model year opens up the door to another round of reviews, which will now be far more positive than they were on the last run. Also, while we know our cars can improve significantly with OTA updates, there are a lot customers that will look to a new model year for even software improvements.

This actually is a fairly smart move by Lucid, even if hardware changes are minimal.
 
There have been a few hardware issues on Gravity 2026 that have showed up in forum posts and service center records. It wouldn't surprise me if they take this opportunity to address a few of those, like the 2nd seat issues. They have also been talking about cost savings opportunities they discovered while designing the midsize. If there was any low-hanging fruit there, I wouldn't be surprised if some of those savings snuck their way into Gravity 2027. Not a redesign, but anything short of that. Might also be moving things around in the production line to optimize. I guess we'll see what comes.

Either more & higher discounts, or ordering opens up soon. Maybe some get close enough, but rebating for unwanted options and missing items seems a minimum that ~$3k may not cover? Conversely, 0% financing could go away when ordering comes back.

I imagine any significant changes will be covered under warranty via a TSB and/or TSC campaign.

They're not adding an extra motor or switching from a compressor to a heat pump :P
 
Looks like the configurator is working again. However its not clear if this is the 2027 model or not.

the button says "Design Yours 2027"
the other option is "Available now 2026"

That's 2027. There are subtle changes in options. From a quick glance.
1. DreamDrive2 Premium is standard now on all vehicles. I guess base DreamDrive2 is not longer an option.
2. Comfort and Convenience is included
3. Power package is included
4. Tow upgrade is increased from $650 to $950. Don't quote me on the price
5. Price of Grand Touring increased from $94 to $98k

Some big price hikes for 2027. Hopefully the vehicle will be more reliable than 2026.

priced one the same way as mine
about $2500 higher- not an atypical % increase year to year at all
 
Priced a touring with the same exact config as a '26 i'm looking at in inventory and the '27 is about $2,500 cheaper in the configurator
