I'm almost wondering if they're going to pull out of the US market and just go SA. Consumer Reports basically killed the Gravity for anyone not wanting a hotrod wagon.

I know you're pretty unhappy with some things about Lucid and the cars they produce, but it's a bit hyperbolic to speculate that they're going to abandon the US market. I'll also note that Air sales steadily expanded in spite of the quality problems. While they deserve harsh criticism for the way they launched the Gravity, they seem to be taking the quality critique seriously and working to address it.
 
We owners and customers on the outside looking in, speculate on reasons for Lucid's decisions.
Keeps us engaged and forum traffic flowing (definite slow down lately) since there seem to be fewer bugs to discuss with each sw update.

This pause on taking orders makes sense to me.
Everytime I've played with the configurator to redesign my Gravity for the fun of it, I've found it available in inventory.
Even when I've configured my Gravity slightly different (stealth appearance and 5 seats), I've found it in inventory.

Add on the fact that interested customers can also work with an SA to find a Gravity scheduled for production if it's not available in inventory, the decision makes sense.
End of model year closeout with zero percent financing is icing on the cake to me.

Meanwhile, I'm looking for a Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo for myself now that I've got a hauler for the granddaughters and the beach.
These Porsche salespeople are like vultures if you ask about a CPO model. New ones are very hard to find near my location.

I was cross shopping a CPO Taycan 4s, it sold pretty quick. Carmax has quite a few Taycan Cross Turismos. I can't get over how how they look though.

Given they’re rolling out 2027s in the next coming months, makes complete sense why they paused new orders on the 2026 model.

I’ve been looking for months for a specific configuration with no luck. Essentially fully loaded without tech package (power package instead with 21/22 inch wheels). No dice, at least in white. Saw one in green.

I'm hoping my Lunar Titanium order will now be for a 2027 model. The longer they have to squash bugs and implement new or previously promised features (e.g. Camp Mode) the more chance I'll receive a vehicle that doesn't need to be in for service as often as many of the early adopters on here and I can just drive the thing w/ fewer worries and way less flack from the Mrs.!

Maybe I should play Neil Young "long may you run" on repeat in my Subaru!

By the way, reducing existing inventory will make shareholders much happier (read PIF) than pushing out cars without buyers. Want Lucid to make a fresh start? Well, here it is! Headcount reductions, inventory reductions, "new model year" designations... management is trying really hard to become a new company! I hope for the best!

Some of us got "lucky"... having glitches, but with the worst ones solvable by mobile tech visit or OTA software update. I had my share of early adopter annoyances and own goals (2 of 3 valet cards not working, sensors blocked, interior door trim popping off, and wait what the lowly Touring doesn't come with homelink?!?!?) All fixed my mobile tech! I think the trick is to live the right distance from the service center, so you don't have to drive there but they're willing to send a mobile tech.

I do have two annoyances left (second row seat motors and the center console card reader) that require time at the service center. They've made an appointment to come pick up the car in late April for those.

I think Lucid has figured out how to address most of these problems (all pretty common previously) so you SHOULD have better luck with anything being assembled now. Good luck!
 
Can someone please correct me because it sounded like they are only finishing vehicles already started in production until they announce my 2027??? These announcements are historically mid-year, but maybe they are being announced at investor day, I hope. 2027 gravity with donuts!
 
My thought is they’ll announce 2027s on investor day and open up new 2027 orders shortly after for delivery in June/July. This is a pure guess. I have no idea.
 
Perhaps they paused manufacturing while they retool the assembly line? Just another wild speculation without any basis.

The CarMax near me doesn't have any on the lot. I'd have to pay for shipping; not doing that. Found one in NC I may checkout.
