Fifteen days ago I finally pulled the trigger on a Fathom Blue 2025 GT. I'm going to start by saying that the car looks amazing. This is by far the best looking car I've owned. I have Santa Cruz interior, the glass canopy with stealth package and 20" wheels. I want to add that I do think that Fathom Blue looks more grey to me. As far as comfort is concerned, there are absolutely no complaints here. I'm 6'2", 190 pounds and after manipulating the many available seat adjustments, the cockpit is extremely comfortable. My wife and kids enjoy the comfort as well. When it comes to the driving capability, I'm an extremely aggressive driver and this car definitely meets all of the challenges. It handles well, it's smooth and the power is there when I need it. Looks, comfort and handling are things I love about this luxury vehicle.
Things that need major improvement. The software glitches have to be worked out. I woke up a couple of days ago and the car lost connectivity to my wifi and app. The car no longer recognizes any nearby networks. The app is no longer able to connect to the car and after performing all of the resets except the full factory reset, the problem persists. Before that, I believed that the lag in communication between the app and car was significant. The rear panel flat out has a mind of its own. It can't be controlled. It comes on when it wants to, and it shuts off at will. The cameras are grainy and this is more noticeable at night. The service can also be improved. A luxury car has to also come with a luxury experience. I won't get into details but after many calls attempting to have center disks and lug nut covers delivered, I've decided tp make the drive to the service center.
Things that I believe are lacking. My cousin owns a S model and he is the impetus for my in depth delve into EV's. My wife owns a Rivian R1S that I know very well and is the basis of most of my EV technology comparisons. My wife is able to create a climate control schedule from the Rivian app. She leaves for work the same time every morning and leaves work for home pretty much the same time so the car is already programmed to be climate controlled when she enters. The Rivian has a feature called Gear Guard. Anyone who comes within a certain distance of the car when it is parked is recorded by the cameras. From the app, you can also see what's going on around your parked car in real time. When my wife has to schedule service she can do it from her app and within 24 hours she's receives both a phone call and a text message from a service person. She can choose what form of communication, text or phone call she prefers for future correspondence. This is definitely nitpicking but the point I"m making with this last comment is that Rivian is thinking about the big and small things. The R1S' charging port doesn't lock the charger in the port when she charges at home. The car recognizes she's at home.
With all that said, I love driving this car and will keep it.
